As for the recently dropped teaser trailer video for Regal Entertainment’s Haunted Carnival, the film’s official teaser hashtag, “HauntedCarnivalOfficialTeaser”, and tagline for Fyang Smith’s upcoming appearance in the horror film, “FYANG NIGHTMARE SZN BEGINS”, were among the top 2 trending topics on X/Philippines, according to the filmmaker’s official social media accounts.
As for Fyang Smith, this is also her first time (and also in terms of the Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 history, citing that Fyang was a housemate-Big Winner of the said PBB season) appearing in two of the entry films in the 52nd Metro Manila Film Festival; last year, she appeared in only one film, Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, also by Regal Entertainment.
Apart from Haunted Carnival, Fyang will also appear alongside JM Ibarra in The Greatest Showdown, headlined by Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto, which also marked their second JMFyang pairing in an MMFF entry. The release of the film’s teaser-trailer on the official social media accounts of Star Cinema, the film’s hashtag, as well as the tagline for JMFyang, “JMMFFyang JOINS VICe MOVIE”, trended online on X/Twitter Philippines.
As for Caprice Cayetano and Heath Jornales, who are known as ex-housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 (both of whom are among the Ultimate 8 Housemates, with Caprice crowned the Big Winner in terms of Kapuso housemates and Heath hailed as the 2nd Big Placer) and previously appeared in a Kapuso afternoon drama series, You’re My Favorite Song, they will mark their first appearance in an entry film for the Metro Manila Film Festival for GMA Pictures’ Amir.
