We have heard the news recently, February 22, 2024, that ABS-CBN and PLDT will not continue the acquisition of PLDT and SKY, which has been signed by and among these two companies on March the last year and has been approved by the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) last January 22, 2024, amounting for P6.75 Billion.

As a result of this decision from ABS-CBN and PLDT, SKY Cable Corporation has just announced that their Pay TV Service, SKYcable (and it’s business counterpart, SKYBIZ), will continue to operate even after the supposed shutdown date of February 26, 2024 at 23h59. Aside from SKYcable and SKYBIZ, SKY Fiber and SKYBIZ Broadband and will continue to provide internet service to it’s subscribers (including bundled ones) as usual.

You will be able to continue enjoying several Pay TV Channels that SKYcable has promised as usual, including those from the Kapamilya Network’s own Pay TV Channels, i.e. Kapamilya Channel in SD and HD, ANC in SD and HD, Teleradyo Serbisyo, Myx, Cinema One, Knowledge Channel, Metro Channel in SD and HD, Cinemo! and Jeepney TV.

If you are a SKYcable or SKYBIZ Subscriber, your subscribed plan before January 26, 2024 will resume on March 16, 2024. Billing shall also continue on that date. You are not required to pay for that for the period of January 26, 2024 to March 15, 2024.

If you have switched to an another pay TV provider from SKYcable (especially you have switched to Digital Terrestrial Television) prior to this announcement, you must inform SKY to stop this on or before March 16, 2024, by sending them a message through their own live online support chat, KYLA.
