Entertainment: Bubble Gang celebrates 31 years with their “TrenDta’y Uno” 2-Part Special

GMA Network’s longest-running gag show in Philippine Television, Bubble Gang, will mark its 31st anniversary of bringing fun and laughter with iconic moments with its “TrenDta’y Uno” two-part special airing on GMA on October 18 and 25, 2026.

Led by the country’s on-air comedy icons of today, Michael V., the special, together with the cast of the comedy show, features a star-studded lineup of guests for the anniversary episodes, focusing on notable social media trends, personalities, and events that defined the year.

Beginning the trending list is Artificial Intelligence, or AI, as the comedy show, in partnership with the network’s digital media and consumer products subsidiary GMA New Media, will present sketches of itself using generative AI technologies.

Veteran broadcast journalist and KMJS presenter Jessica Soho takes her iconic delivery of the Sunday primetime telemagazine program on the set of Bubble Gang. International music icon and recently joined GMA Music artist Apl.de.ap levels up the hilarious sing-along in the Istambay segment.

The special will also join some of the former cast members for their much-awaited comeback, as Assunta de Rossi and Sparkle star Gwen Zamora will team up on the microdrama series combined with overly dramatic, campy, and cliché stories. Agresibo host Emil Maangil (played by Paolo Contis) and Wendell Ramos will further intensify the face-off in one of the most shallow issues.

Meanwhile, Eric Fructuoso will also join the comedy show’s Senate hearing, as medical vlogger Dr. Kilikilimanjaju (EA Guzman) takes on a lecture with Mikael Daez on conflicting health and wellness advice, and former cast member Dasuri Choi teams up with the showdown between girl groups Yumi and Rumi.

Yumi, one of the fictional P-Pop groups seen on the GMA Afternoon Prime drama series Born To Shine, comprised of Zephanie Dimaraanan, Olive May, Naya Ambi, Gaea Mischa, and Mitzi Josh, will perform their hit song, Ikaw Ang Dahilian, whereas the comedy show’s group Rumi, comprised of EA de Guzman, Matt Lozano, Buboy Villar, and Kokoy de Santos, countered them with their song, Puro Ka Dahilan.

Also joining the two-part special and delivering their skits were Sanya Lopez, Rayver Cruz, Betong Sumaya, Analyn Barro, Cheska Fausto, Chariz Solomon, and special participant Gladys Reyes.

The Bubble Gang’s 31st Anniversary Special, TrenDta’y Uno, airs via GMA Network and Kapuso Stream on October 18 (18:00) and 25 (18:20), 2026, after 24 Oras Weekend.
