For the first time in the history of Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 post-Big Night, the season’s Big Winner and Anakabogerang Influencer-Actress Fyang Smith will star in two of the 52nd Metro Manila Film Festival entry films: Haunted Carnival by Regal Entertainment and The Greatest Showdown by ABS-CBN Studios-Star Cinema and APT Entertainment.
This also marked her second and third Metro Manila Film Festival entry films since her debut in last year’s entry film, Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, where she played DJ Elle in the 2025 segment of the horror film also produced by the same filmmaker as Haunted Carnival. It is also her second appearance in a Filipino horror film since her debut in the Philippine film industry.
Also appearing in Haunted Carnival were Julia Barretto, James Reid, Maricel Soriano, John Arcilla, RK Bagatsing, Ronnie Alonte, Charlie Fleming, Prince Carlos, Liezel Lopez, and Joaquin Arce.
As for her love team partner of JMFyang, JM Ibarra, as seen in the teaser-trailer video for the Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto-topbilled 52nd MMFF Entry Film The Greatest Showdown, they appeared in the said video, together with PBB Celebrity Collab Edition 1.0 ex-housemates Brent Manalo and Klarisse de Guzman, as well as Eat Bulaga Dabarkads Ryzza Mae Dizon and Jose Manalo.
The appearance of JMFyang in The Greatest Showdown also marked their second appearance as a love team partner in an MMFF entry film, since their debut in SRR: Evil Origins, where JM played the role of James in the same segment as Fyang.
Upon the release of the teaser-trailer videos for Haunted Carnival and The Greatest Showdown on their respective social media accounts of Regal Entertainment and Star Cinema (including ABS-CBN and related accounts), netizens surged positive reactions and support for Fyang in the two 52nd MMFF entry films, with taglines “FYANG NIGHTMARE SZN BEGINS” and “JMMFFyang JOINS VICe MOVIE” and hashtags “HauntedCarnivalOfficialTeaser” and “TheGreatestShowdown” trending online on X/Twitter in the Philippines.
Both Haunted Carnival and The Greatest Showdown are among the eight entry films for the 52nd Metro Manila Film Festival, alongside Amir, 2nd Miracle in Cell No. 7, Los Salvajes Bravos, Little Hope, Seeds of Peace: The Life of Father Rhoel D. Gallardo CMF, and A Perfect Marriage, and all of the eight official entry films are scheduled to release in Philippine cinemas nationwide on Christmas Day, December 25, 2026, with tickets capped at PHP 299.00 upon opening.
In the second half of 2026, apart from Fyang’s first-ever double MMFF entry film appearance, some of the ex-housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 have been appeared for the first time in some of the Philippine entertainment media forms or another part of the production industry, including Therese Villamor in Half Sisters (iWant microdrama), Kanata Tapia in Coach Me Maybe (iWant microdrama), JP Cabrera in Unfiltered (film, together with co-ex-housemate Kai Montinola), Dingdong Bahan in Honor Thy Mother (ABS-CBN-GMA-Prime Video online series), and Dylan Yturralde for his self-titled EP (musical album).
As for JM and Fyang, they also appeared in regularly released cinematic films, including Almost Us (Regal Entertainment), Child No. 82: Anak ni Boy Kana (Outplay Media, for JM), and My Love Will Make You Disappear (Star Cinema, headlined by Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino).
