Star Cinema’s 33rd anniversary film offering, Tayo Sa Wakas (transl. Us In The End), headlined by Donny Pangilnan and Belle Mariano, and directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, started to show in over 200 cinemas across the Philippines on its first day of its release on May 27, 2026, where the film often described as lovers to rivals, which ultimately aims to entertain moviegoers, to believe in and fall in love with love again.
Upon its cinematic release on May 27, 2026, it reached over PHP 12 million (USD 195,033.16) in box office earnings, surpassing Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales-led The Loved One, which achieved over PHP 5 million on its first day.
The premise of the film centers on a longtime couple, Cisco (Donny) and Cheska (Belle), who are forced to confront how their ambitions put them on competing paths. They take a promised breakup trip to decide whether to finally let go of each other or fight for their love.
Following the film’s success on its first day, Star Cinema announced that it expanded to over 250 cinemas nationwide on the second day (as of May 28, 2026), and will continue to add more cinemas on the following days, including its global screenings in Australia and New Zealand on June 11, 2026, the Americas (United States, Canada, and Guam) on June 12, 2026, China SAR (Hong Kong and Macau) on June 21, 2026, Taiwan on August 7, 2026, and Malaysia and Taiwan on an undisclosed date.
Love is the center of everything. It should be, ‘di ba? But then, in the midst of love, in the midst of falling in love, it’s not always happy moments as well. So you go through all of that, ‘d ba? But we also go through that here in the story. – Donny Pangilinan
It’s up to you or what state you are in for you to relate to it, but I’m pretty sure that the people who watch it would relate to it, whether that’s finding love for yourself or finding your true love. It talks so much about love and how to love someone, but ultimately, how to love yourself. – Belle Mariano
