Entertainment: Kathryn Bernardo-led Someone Someday releases its trailer, Lara’s farewell in Blood vs. Duty

As the highly anticipated return of Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo is set to start on July 27, 2026, ABS-CBN Studios and Dreamscape Entertainment released the official trailer of Someone Someday, starring Kathryn, James Reid, and Maja Salvador, on July 8, 2026.

The modern, feel-good, and progressive series with a heart features the journey of Billy (Kathryn), a young woman who finds purpose in caring for her family, leading her company, and helping other women. As the thriving CEO of Love List, an online dating application that empowers women to find true love, she finds deeper meaning in providing for her family, especially her younger brother, Oliver (Migs Casimiro), whom she raised on her own.

As Billy navigates life, her friendship with her best friend Jordan (James) will deepen as she leans on him for support when a mysterious woman named Abby (Maja) enters her life with a seemingly hidden agenda.

When she faces challenges that threaten everything she values, Billy must confront the wounds that she’s spent years hiding before she can reclaim her dreams and finally discover whether someone, someday, was meant for her after all.

Also in Someone Someday, the series will feature Dimples Romana, Rowell Santiago, Rita Avila, McCoy de Leon, and Daniela Stranner. Chad Vidanes and Dolly Lulu directed this latest primetime drama offering.

Someone Someday is scheduled for release in advance on Netflix on July 24, 2026, and on iWant on July 25, 2026. Viewers can also catch the new series beginning on July 27, 2026, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, ALLTV2, A2Z, TV5, and The Filipino Channel (TFC).

While viewers and fans of Kathryn are waiting for the much-awaited premiere of Someone Someday, Bela Padilla earns praise for her heart-wrenching portrayal of the strong-willed and vindictive agent Lara Angeles, whose untimely death marks a pivotal turning point in the hit primetime series, Blood vs. Duty.

Airing in the final three weeks on the same ABS-CBN on-air (not available on TV5) and digital platforms on weekdays at 20:45 (after Coco Martin’s Sigabo), her tragic demise, combined with her powerful performance that left audiences devastated, marks the culmination of her years-long pursuit of justice. Kapamilyas on YouTube lauded her portrayal, with one viewer describing her death scene as matalino, madiskarte, at matapang.

Ang galing ni Bela, kahit sa boses ay nararamdaman na ng viewers ang anguish at ang anger at pati sa mga mata niya ang emotions ay mapapansin rin, another viewer of Blood vs. Duty reacted about Lara’s death in the series.

As Blood vs. Duty’s heartbreaking finale is about to unfold, a long-awaited face-to-face meeting takes place between General Manuel Carillo (Bodjie Pascua) and Ahmad Mustapha (Robin Padilla) to discuss the series of gruesome crimes plaguing the nation.

Will the truth behind Lara’s death come to light? Can Jalil (Gerald Anderson) and Marcus (Richard Gutierrez) help save Mustapha, who is now in danger? JRB Creative Production, the ABS-CBN-led production entity behind the series, asked its viewers ahead of the series finale.
