Music: Filipino Music Awards 2026 names ABS-CBN Music as Music Company of the Year

ABS-CBN-led recording entity ABS-CBN Music, comprised of music label brands Star Music, StarPop, Tarsier Records, DNA Music, Old School Records, CAT Records, Inspire Music, and ABS-CBN Music International, made its first win at the recently held Filipino Choice Awards 2026, which took place last Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

The Filipino Music Awards, led by AGC Power Holdings, under a partnership of One Mega Group, Mega Global Group, Modern Media Group, and Digistar PH, is an award-giving body launched in 2025 that celebrates creativity and excellence while honoring recording artists and institutions that contribute to the growth and evolution of the Original Pinoy Music (OPM).

As for the recording entity’s singing acts, BINI, Maki, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid also took home some of the high-level top honors during the musical award-giving body.

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her enduring contribution to Philippine music, just ahead of her upcoming FINALE: The Final Major Solo Concert, taking place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on October 17 and 18, 2026. The award would honor the OPM icon’s celebrated body of work and lasting legacy for decades.

As for the nation’s girl group BINI, while they are in the preparations for their Singapore and Taiwan stops in the Signals World Tour 2026 in October and November, the “Walo” took home two prestigious awards, including the Artist of the Year for themselves and the Tour of the Year for their ongoing world tour, which took place earlier in Metro Manila, Cebu, and several parts of the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, despite their European stop having been previously cancelled by the management.

The recognition of these two awards for the nation’s girl group reflects their growing global impact as they continue to deliver Filipino music to audiences locally and globally, besides their ongoing Signals World Tour, including their recent music festival appearances at Coachella 2026 and Summer Sonic 2026 Japan, and their recording of A Parallel World for the DreamWorks Animation film Forgotten Island, which featured several Filipino acts including Liza Soberano, Dolly de Leon, and Lea Salonga, to name a few.

As for the Tarsier Records singer-songwriter Maki, he received the Album of the Year award for his 10-track album, KOLORCOASTER, which features three of the listener’s favorite hits, such as Dilaw, Kahel Na Langit, and Namumula.

The recognition of the recording entity as the award-giving body’s Music Company of the Year awardee highlights its continued support for Filipino music and artists, as well as its role in creative opportunities for OPM to reach audiences in the Philippines and across the globe, as well as upcoming events for its artists, including Carmelle Collado’s representation of her song, Sobra Sobra, for the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 grand final in Bangkok, Thailand, taking place on November 14, 2026.
