PBB Gen 11: Regal Entertainment releases the JMFyang-led Almost Us teaser video

Just less than two months ahead of the release of the upcoming romantic movie offering (on May 6, 2026), Regal Entertainment and Project 8 Projects recently released a 90-second teaser video for Almost Us, topbilled by the ex-housemates of Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11, JM Ibarra, and Fyang Smith. Why do we sometimes reach for the distant when the one who loves us most is right here? That was what Regal Entertainment had stated in the description of the film teaser.

Dan Villegas directed the upcoming romantic comedy film, which will also feature Yuki Takahashi, Sam Samarita, JM Salvado, Baus Rufo, Che Ramos, and Lotlot Bustamante, in addition to JM and Fyang. Dan was known as the storyteller of Pinoy Romance, and he is the director behind English Only, Please, Walang Forever, and The Breakup Playlist.

About three hours after the release of the film teaser, it accumulated over 3 million views across all of the social media platforms of Regal Entertainment and Project 8, with a shorter version of the teaser film was broadcast during the commercial breaks of Batang Quiapo and Roja, based on the viewings led by the DRPS PHCA during the counting of the ad loads of these shows for TV Ad Listings. The 90-second teaser video of the film, was also aired via TV Patrol on Kapamilya Channel, but not shown on A2Z and ALLTV2.

The teaser of the film also sparked trends online, especially on X/Twitter, where the tagline “JMFYANG AUda OVERLOAD” and the hashtag “#AlmostUsOfficialTeaser” are among the trending topics on social media platforms in the Philippines as of March 11, 2026, at 23:00 (Philippine Standard Time).

Almost Us is set to premiere in Philippine Cinemas beginning May 6, 2026. The film was previously titled as “IRL”, when this was announced during the premiere screening of the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival Entry Film, Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, from where that JM and Fyang, are among the cast of the entry film (citing that they, along with PBB Gen 11 alum Dylan Yturralde, are part of the casts of the “2025” segment, that stood online trends and reactions from netizens, after watching the film).

Apart from Almost Us and SRR: Evil Origins, JM and Fyang are known for their highly anticipated online drama series, Ghosting, which premiered on July 19, 2025, on iWant. JM played the roles of Wilberto in the first part, and Macmac in the second part titled “Deja-BOO!”, which premiered on November 1, 2025. Fyang also played the role of Jaja in the said series.

JM Ibarra, along with PBB Gen 11 co-evictee Kai Montinola, also starred in a Cinemalaya 2025 Entry Film titled Child No. 82, Anak ni Boy Kana. Fyang Smith also released her debut album Forever FYANG on June 20, 2025, with an album launch event under the same name held at the New Frontier Theater on June 22, 2025.

As an ex-housemate of Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11, JM Ibarra was the final evictee of the season, whereas Fyang Smith was the Big Winner of it (and the 18th since the launch of Pinoy Big Brother on August 21, 2005), garnering a 30.66% BBS votes among the other three of the Big 4 – Kai Montinola, Kolette Madelo, and Rain Celmar, during the historically acclaimed Big Night held on October 26, 2024, that stood an all-time high peak concurrent viewership record of over 2.26 million viewers.
