Within these dates, Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, and GMA, will provide you some special programming lineup – consisting of local and foreign films, programs dedicated to reflect the acts of God, and other specialty programs, i.e. Power To Unite with Elvira, Celebration of the Lord’s Last Supper, Seven Last Words/Siete Palabras, Veneration of the Cross, Tanikala, Himig Panalangin, Easter Vigil Mass, and etc.
News programming, such as GMA’s 24 Oras and TV5’s Frontline Pilipinas Weekend will continue to air within the Triduum. 24 Oras and 24 Oras Weekend, on Holy Week, shall air on GMA from 18h30 to 19h30 (source: GMA DTV EPG), while Frontline Pilipinas Weekend will be seen through TV5 this Saturday, from 17h00 to 18h00.
The majority of DTV Subchannels of their TV Stations, as well as AM and FM Radio Stations will go off-air for some technical, routine maintenance on their transmitter and broadcast operations during the time of the Lenten Season. These channels will go back on the air by either Black Saturday or Easter Sunday, depending on the announcement from the broadcaster involving the Holy Week.
Others like Bombo Radyo and Star FM Stations will also go off-air from Good Friday afternoon (right after the Seven Last Words airing) and shall be back on from Easter Sunday morning, while TV5 will also go off-air within the entirety of Good Friday.
Political campaigning for the 2025 National and Local, Mid-Term Elections, both on-site and on-air (TV and Radio), will not happen or to be heard or seen from April 17 to 18, 2025, per COMELEC Resolution no. 10999, and it shall resume from April 19, 2025 until the last day of campaigining.
