Special: LAST DAY TO REGISTER 2026, a trend to promote voter registration for the PH elections

About two years ahead of the 2028 National and Local Elections, and less than six months before the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in the Philippines, apart from the recent political controversies surrounding the flood control projects, political rallies, and demonstrations in late 2025, and the recent happenings in the Senate on May 13, 2026, the time ticked on May 18, 2026 when the final day of the COMELEC-ammended voter registration period for these two upcoming elections took place, in different parts of the country.

To help people register as voters for the 2026 BSKE elections and the 2028 NLE elections, several fan community groups on X/Twitter have organized a social media campaign to promote voter registration ahead of the deadline and prepare for voting, which will run from 6:00 to 17:00 (Philippine Standard Time).

The social media campaign tagline, LAST DAY TO REGISTER 2026, created by JMFyang Official, a fandom for Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 ex-housemates JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith, known for their recently-premiered projects, Almost Us and Love Is Never Gone, aimed at the public on social media to reach out to Filipinos who have not registered for the 2026 BSKE elections and 2028 elections to have them registered and get ready to exercise their right to vote.

One valid ID. A few minutes of your time. One powerful chance to shape the future, JMFyang Official said in their social media post for the voter registration on May 14, 2026, four days before the deadline kicks in.

In fact, when this trend became popular not only in the Philippines but also worldwide, it was ranked number 1 on X/Twitter in the Philippines and number 37 worldwide, reaching everyone, including Gen Z, to take advantage of this important journey in Philippine politics.

The global tagline was also combined with hashtags created by the fan accounts of each celebrity, love teams, singer-songwriters, and girl groups, including, apart from JMFyang, JM, and Fyang, and, but not limited to, Charlie Fleming, Will Ashley, Lella Ford-Anton Vinzon (LelTon), Princess Aliyah, Eliza Borromeo-Miguel Vergara (LizGuel), Caprice Cayetano-Krystal Mejes (CapKrys), AZ Martinez-Ralph de Leon (AZRalph), Miguel Vergara, Fred Moser-Princess Aliyah (FredCess), Eliza Borromeo, Krysal Mejes, Heath Jornales, Rabin Angeles-Angela Muji (RabGel), BINI, River Joseph, Over October, Shuvee Etrata, Ashtine Olviga, Francine Diaz-Seth Fedelin (FranSeth), Mika Salamanca, Ashtine Olviga-Andres Muhlach (AshDres), Kai Montinola-Kyle Echarri (KaiKyle), Krystal Mejes-Anton Vinzon (KrysTon), Rhen Escano-Joseph Marco (RhenSeph), Dustin Yu-Bianca de Vera (DustBia), Kai Montinola, Dustin Yu, Mika Salamanca-Will Ashley (MikWill), and many others, that JMFyang Official documented in their social media post thanked them for participating and extend the promotion for voter registration, within the deadline day.

We know the BSKE is not the national election, but this is where it begins. Sa ating mga barangay nagsisimula ang tunay na pagbabago. When we choose leaders who truly care, we build momentum until we rise together again on the national stage in 2028, JMFyang Official said in its statement.

We are not just fandoms who fangirl or fanboy. Hindi lang tayo basta tagahanga— tayo ay tinig, tayo ay lakas, tayo ay Pilipino. We stand for our country not by someone’s last name, not by political color, but by love for Pilipinas, they added.

The DRPS Philippine Commercial Archives also participated in the promotion for voter registration on the deadline day, while using the tagline and our hashtags related to DRPS PHCA Politicalism and the NLE 2028 elections, rather than combining with their hashtags provided by the fandom.

Your vote, our future. And that was what it reads to viewers on all of our social media accounts of the DRPS PHCA – DRPS PHCA Main, DRPS One Channel, DRPS Two Channel, DRPS Three Channel, DRPS Xtra Channel, DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings, and DRPS PHCA Free Community Group – across not only X/Twitter, from where the tagline was originated by JMFyang Official and other fandoms, and became trending nationwide and worldwide, but also on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube Community Tab, and Threads.

The DRPS PHCA Politicalism, as what it reads in our social media post related to the tagline, was known for archiving a handful of Political Advertisements of several electoral candidates and party-list groups seen on television, on the radio, and online via social media, which are published across all YouTube Channels owned by the DRPS PHCA, including the DRPS One and DRPS Two channels.

Some of the campaign ads, before and during the campaigning period for the 2022 and 2025 National and Local elections, are also featured on several news and media entities, including CNN Philippines (now NewsWatch PH), Politiko, Coconuts Asia, One PH, The Philippine Star, Rappler, ABS-CBN News (via Patrol ng Pilipino), and many others.

For five years since its founding on January 27, 2021, the DRPS Philippine Commercial Archives continued its reach to the Philippines and to the world, by delivering TV and Radio commercials of their brands and products, and even electoral propaganda of several candidates and political parties, nationally and globally.

On February 19, 2026, two of the local campaign video ads from Pasig City Mayoral Candidate Sarah Discaya, as posted on the DRPS One Channel during the campaigning period for local candidates, appeared in an affidavit complaint filed by the Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, over her alleged election overspending and SOCE anomaly.

The DRPS PHCA, the owner of its flagship YouTube channel, DRPS One Channel, which had 155,730,479 views and over 64.2 thousand subscribers on YouTube (as of May 18, 2026), will continue to reach out about the 2028 National and Local Elections in the Philippines in the future. The DRPS PHCA will also soon carry the “Your vote, our future” slogan for future electoral-related activities throughout the network and the Politicalism brand.
