DRPS PHCA Free Newsletter – January 24 to 30, 2026

DRPS PHCA Free Newsletter

Welcome to our Online Weekly Newsletter from DRPS PHCA’s own community news and bulletin board service, DRPS PHCA Free. It provides an overview of what has been happening to Philippine TV and Radio, including us, over the last week.

Featured Article: DRPS PHCA – 5 Years in the making

This January 27, 2026, the DRPS Philippine Commercial Archives will celebrate its fifth year of founding as a TV and Radio Ad Archive, and to provide more communicable information via our social media accounts through DRPS PHCA Free, the archive’s online media and news service, which covers mostly Philippine Entertainment and Pinoy Big Brother housemates since Gen 11, including the latest Celebrity Collab 2.0.

It was on January 27, 2021, that the DRPS PHCA was founded, in conjunction with the rebranding of its flagship YouTube Channel, DRPS One Channel (the channel of TV Ad archives), and the launch of its Radio Ad Archive channel, DRPS Two Channel. And now, five years later, these channels still exist, with the latter launching their respective Facebook pages in September 2022 for DRPS One and in September 2025 for DRPS Two. Additionally, the other channels of the DRPS PHCA are DRPS Three (TV Ad Compilations) and DRPS Xtra (Online Ads).

For two consecutive Philippine election years, the DRPS PHCA delivered political advertisements of the candidates and party-list groups. The videos of campaign ads shown on the DRPS One Channel before the COMELEC-ammended period are also featured online, including Politiko, Coconuts Asia, The Philippine Star, Rappler, and many others. And this is why the DRPS PHCA was the sole creator of the DRPS One Channel, which is why it delivered campaign ads for each candidate during the election period, every time that their ad was shown on TV, apart from TV Commercials from advertisers.

However, let’s take a look at the backstory behind DRPS Three, DRPS Xtra, and all other properties of DRPS PHCA, including DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings, DRPS PHCA Free, and DRPS PHCA Check. The DRPS Three channel was launched in March 2021 as a YouTube Channel mainly focused on Commercial Break videos aired on TV. It was discontinued in January 2023, then later became a TV Ad compilations channel.

The publication of commercial break videos returned through DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings, which was derived from our Ad Load counting service launched in February 2023. For the second and final time, the channel ceased its daily YouTube postings due to issues surrounding a policy that may violate copyright (over the teasers of each commercial break video uploaded on the channel), and as part of its cost-cutting measures to work on for other DRPS PHCA-owned properties.

However, that doesn’t mean the DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings have been discontinued following the YouTube Channel shutdown; in fact, we continue to count TV Ads of some primetime series, but not in the form of a commercial break video. The list of TV ads for each gap aired on these shows is posted on its Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, and its own website, TVAL.DRPSPHCA.com.

In July 2023, the DRPS PHCA Free was launched as an online news service published on its Facebook Page, which mainly focuses on Philippine Television and Entertainment-related content, with DRPS PHCA Check, a fact-checking service, following suit a month after, following several reports of fake news and hoaxes about the said topic, including those on the radio. They are also published on the DRPSPHCA.com website. The DRPS PHCA Free also had its weekly newsletter, issued like this every Saturday night.

Both the DRPS PHCA Free and the DRPS PHCA Check had their former names: DRPS PHCA Online Media and DRPS PHCA Fake News Alert, i-Boycott ang Peke, and DRPS PHCA Online. The DRPS PHCA Online website was previously hosted under a subdomain branded via Weebly’s website since its launch in May 2023.

In March 2024, the DRPS PHCA Free Live was introduced, with its first-ever live pictorial being the Star Magical Prom 2024, held on March 14, 2024. Since the launch of DRPS PHCA Free Live, we delivered some of the Philippine Entertainment-related coverages on our social media, such as the Star Magic Hot Summer 2024, the GMA Gala 2024 and 2025, the ABS-CBN Ball 2025, the Star Magical Christmas 2024 and 2025, the Star Magic All-Star Games 2025, the GMA’s Beyond 75 event, and for the first time in awards night, the Metro Manila Film Festival’s Gabi ng Parangal, for the 51st edition of the film festival.

In November 2025, the DRPSPHCA.com website was launched during the migration of most of our content from the DRPS PHCA Online website. The website utilizes WordPress as its content management system, which is used for all content on this site, including the DRPS PHCA TVAL’s website, along with our new email address, hello@drpsphca.com, is stored on a VPS Server in Malaysia, courtesy of Hostinger, one of the well-known web hosting and domain registration companies based in Lithuania. The domain name registration is also purchased via Hostinger, alongside the VPS plan we’ve used to make the DRPSPHCA.com website possible. To protect the DRPSPHCA.com website from DDoS Attacks, Viruses, and all other forms of malware, Cloudflare safeguards the website.

On July 16, 2022, we began supporting the housemates of Pinoy Big Brother, starting with Kumunity Season 10’s Teen Edition. When a new season of PBB was announced as seen in the ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2023, and with the introduction of Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 on July 20, 2024, we began covering the whole edition, where we shared some of the tasks made by the housemates, it’s weekly nomination and eviction nights, and everything in between, until the edition marked Fyang Smith as the Big Winner.

And even after their journey inside the house, including the Big 4Ever special, we continued delivering more about their latest appearances when it comes to TV Series, Online Series, Music Videos, their song releases, and many more. And this is why we proudly support PBB Gen 11 since its launch. We also shared some of the scenes of Dylan Yturralde, Binsoy Namoca, and Rain Celmar’s Love At First Spike, JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith’s Ghosting, Kanata Tapia’s Tropang G.O.A.T., Patrick Ramirez’s The Last Resort, and others.

And speaking of Pinoy Big Brother, when the Celebrity Collab Edition was introduced, we also delivered the inside-the-house happenings, and all of the recent news about what we’ve seen in every episode, especially the most recent Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0.

Today, the DRPS PHCA continues to reach thousands of Filipinos daily, and very soon, we will strive and focus more on the future things to share on our social media accounts. This is DRPS Philippine Commercial Archives, celebrating five years of coloring the world for Filipinos nationwide and worldwide, since January 27, 2021.

PH TV Update: SOCO Returns on-air, Three Kapamilya shows in one 21:30 timeslot, TNT S10 Launch and Duets S2 Finals, and Blood vs. Duty

Weeks after the launch of Kapamilya Channel on ALLTV2, where several Kapamilya shows you’ve previously seen when they aired on TV5 became available on ALLTV2, ABS-CBN News’ long-running investigative program “SOCO: Scene of the Crime Operatives,” hosted by veteran journalist Gus Abelgas, made its highly anticipated return to free television on Kapamilya Channel via ALLTV2 last Saturday (January 17).

Last October 24, 2025, the refreshed version of the investigative program premiered online via iWant (with subscription), which featured a new set of reporters, Zyann Ambrosio, Dennis Datu, Jeff Caparas, Lyza Aquino, and Jessie Cruzat, who will share their firsthand insights and experiences from the cases they all have personally covered. The first episode investigates the Ebeng Mayor murder case (“TikTok”).

It also presented some of the investigative cases of a 2004 Valenzuela City Bank Heist (“Engkwentro”), the killing of a 25-year-old Liezel Navia (“Boso”), the murder of Emy Marin and Analyn Cortuna (“Ahas sa Pamilya”), the Nini case (“Delusyon”), the story of Jenny Rose and Boyet Panzo (“Obsesyon”), the Aegis Juris Fraternity case (“Kapatiran”), the 2023 Vinculado Murder Case (“Boarder”), the San Leonardo Massacre in Nueva Ecija (“Taga”), and the murder case of Karie Ces Mojica (“Aika”).

All of the episodes of SOCO: Limited Crime Docu-drama are available for streaming via iWant and on the ABS-CBN News YouTube Channel, and are being broadcast on Saturdays at 16:30, via Kapamilya Channel, ALLTV2, and A2Z, and streaming live via Kapamilya Online Live (available in Asia, Oceania, and Europe).

Additionally, as of January 19, 2026, some of the ABS-CBN shows, like the current Kapamilya series What Lies Beneath, current Pinoy Big Brother edition Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0, and the 2023 Kapamilya afternoon series Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, are now broadcast on three different channels’ respective primetime blocks – Kapamilya Channel, ALLTV2, and A2Z (WLB), GMA (PBB Collab 2.0), and TV5 (PPP), which all of these shows are airing on weeknights at 21:30.

This occurred following the programming schedule changes for TV5’s TodoMAX Primetime Singko Block, where the Cinecinco Primetime movie block was replaced with two Kapamilya afternoon series that premiered on July 25, 2023: Nag-Aapoy na Damdamin (20:45) and Pira-Pirasong Paraiso (21:30). The other shows broadcast on this block before and after these shows are not affected by this change.

Nag-Aapoy na Damdamin (produced by JRB Creative Production) was headlined by Jane Oineza, JC de Vera, Ria Atayde, and Tony Labrusca. Pira-Pirasong Paraiso (produced by Dreamscape Entertainment) was headlined by Loisa Andalio, Charlie Dizon, Alexa Ilacad, and Elisse Joson. These series aired their respective finale episodes on January 26 (NAND) and 27 (PPP), 2024, with PPP’s finale episode (“Ang Huling Laro”) achieving an all-time high concurrent viewership record of 141,741 on the Kapamilya Online Live (ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube Channel).

Both of these series have been previously aired on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z, apart from TV5, and they are also available for streaming at the moment on iWant.

On the other hand, on January 19, 2026, the tenth edition of It’s Showtime’s reality singing competition, Tawag ng Tanghalan (dubbed as Ika-10 Taon), featured the first contestants of the newest season of it, Vergel from Pasay, and Sidro from Parañaque. The competition named Sidro the winner of the competition for today, with a score of 91.3%, advancing to the Regional Finals of the competition. The milestone season fires up a nationwide search across 18 regions, as contenders from each area face off weekly. Regional winners will advance to the finals, where 18 representatives will compete for the Season 10 Grand Champion title.

Furthermore, The Voice USA season 26 champion Sofronio Vasquez is the newest hurado, joining head judge Louie Ocampo and TNT season 4 grand champion JM Yosures, bringing international experience and a fresh perspective to the country’s longest-running noontime singing contest revival.

But before the new season of Tawag ng Tanghalan began, the Grand Finals of its Duets edition, in its second season, took place last Saturday, January 17, 2026. The OST Dreamers duo, Christian Tibayan and Arvery Lagoring, were crowned the new grand champions following their second attempt at the Grand Finals, scoring 99.6%, besting fellow duos JezzIan—Ian Manibale and Jezza Quiogue—who scored 95.6%, and PangmalaCousins—JR Oclarit and Mark Justo—with 95.4%.

With their victorious winnings, they will receive a cash prize of ₱500,000, a recording contract from ABS-CBN Music, a management contract from ABS-CBN’s Talent Agency Star Magic, and a special trophy designed by Toym Imao. The competition’s runner-ups, JezzIan, received ₱200,000, while PangmalaCousins won ₱100,000.

Apart from these winning contestants, the TNT Duets Season 2 Grand Finalists also include Dugong Bughaw (Miah and Eunice), In 2 U (Isay and Nowi), and TNT Bestmates (Thor and Pia), who gave standout performances to advance to the next round. These duos received ₱50,000.

The judges for this grand finals are Erik Santos, Ogie Alcasid, Jonathan Manalo, Nyoy Volante, Darren, Sofronio Vasquez, Kyla, Bituin Escalante, JM Yosures, and Louie Ocampo. Online, the hashtag “TNTDuets2AngHulingTapatan” quickly claimed the top spot on X, reflecting the show’s strong online buzz, while the episode also trended at the seventh spot worldwide.

Before Arvery’s winnings in this competition with Christian, she had previously competed in the Tawag ng Tanghalan All-Star Grand Resbak in 2025, which served as a replacement for its previous contestant from the same season (under the group of “Pangkat Alon”), Marco Adobas. Marco was disqualified and replaced with Arvery due to a violation of a rule stated in his signed agreement, which was a reason for his disqualification.

Due to the serious allegations he made on his social media regarding the competition and the program, which are ongoing this season at the time being (March 27, 2025), there is a possibility that he will be charged. Additionally, due to this incident, the program decided to replace him, so that the number of members in the group, in which Marco was participating, remains complete.

Arvery also participated in Tawag ng Tanghalan: The School Showdown, before the All-Star Grand Resbak and Duets Season 2 took place on It’s Showtime.

For TV Series fans, as previously mentioned in ABS-CBN’s upcoming shows for 2026 (as seen in the 2025 ABS-CBN Christmas Special), TV and Film Actor Gerald Anderson and Shake, Rattle & Roll Evil Origins “2050” and Incognito star Richard Gutierrez will star in an upcoming primetime action-drama series.

And on January 19, 2026, the Kapamilya Network, together with JRB Creative Production, the creator behind Sins of the Father that premiered last year, as well as Nag-Aapoy na Damdamin, and Mars Ravelo’s Darna (2022-2023), and Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, announces the official title for their upcoming series. The title would be Blood vs. Duty.

Before the announcement of the series’ official title, Bela Padilla made a TV comeback for this year, joining Anderson and Gutierrez’s upcoming series in a lead role. She was previously seen in Pamilya Sagrado (in a special role), FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, My Dear Heart, and Sino ang May Sala: Mea Culpa.

In later days, Barbie Imperial and Baron Geisler joined the series’ lead cast. Baron co-starred in Incognito, while Barbie co-starred in Sins of the Father, and both of them are also seen on FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, under their respective roles of Rockyboy and Tisay.

JRB will soon premiere Blood vs. Duty on ABS-CBN Platforms (Kapamilya Channel, ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, and iWant) in 2026.
