Newsletter (8/8 to 8/14): 5 Years of DRPS PHCA Special (Part 1)

For five years since the founding of the DRPS Philippine Commercial Archives on January 27, 2021, it has been known for delivering today’s TV and Radio advertisements and the past print ads from the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s in the Philippines, including political campaign materials before and during the campaigning period of each election.

The DRPS PHCA owns these audiovisual properties: DRPS One, DRPS Two, DRPS Three, and DRPS Xtra channels, available on YouTube, Facebook, and X/Twitter (for DRPS One only). The DRPS One Channel is a flagship property of the DRPS PHCA, which, as of August 8, 2026, had the most subscribers, with 66.9 thousand, and the most all-time public video views, at 165,230,693, among other in-house channels. And in this 5th Anniversary special of DRPS PHCA, we will talk about the DRPS One and DRPS Two channels.

Some of the election campaign ads published on the DRPS One Channel before the campaign period for 2022 and 2025 elections has started was featured by several media entities in the Philippines (on-air, digital, and print/web media), including One PH’s “Wag Po” (featuring Bong Go for President), CNN Philippines’ “News Night” (featuring Bongbong Marcos’ Bangon Bayan Muli campaign ad), Politiko, Coconuts Asia, ABS-CBN News’ Patrol ng Pilipino, Rappler (featuring Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa campaign ad), and The Philippine Star (featuring Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas), to name a few.

Apart from election campaign ads, the DRPS One channel had also delivered on-air and digital advertisements in the Philippines, including celebrity endorsements from various celebrities, locally and globally. Among the most watched TV ads (organic views) on the channel were Crispy Fry (2020), Sprite (2022), Tide Expert Clean (2022), C2 Cool and Clean (2021), Cream-O (2021), Sting Energy Drink (2021), Breeze Detergent (2021), Vicks ZzzQuil Natura Sleep (2022), Lucky Me! Pancit Canton (2022), Great Taste Coffee (2021), and many others.

On March 13, 2022, the DRPS One Channel began posting vertical TV commercials under the “DRPS One Shorts” branding. Within the first half of 2026, the DRPS One Channel had accumulated 20,262,092 public online views, or about 111,945 views per day on average (vs. 19,678,845 views from 1H 2025, or 108,723 per day on average).

The DRPS Two Channel is a sister YouTube Channel of the DRPS PHCA, which publishes national and local radio commercials in the Philippines, including political campaigns, like the DRPS One Channel. It is the second-most-subscribed and most-watched channel among DRPS PHCA-owned video properties, with over 13.3 thousand subscribers and 12,422,077 public online views.

The channel delivered local radio ads from various advertisers outside in Metro Manila, including Laguna, Batangas, Quezon Province, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Albay, Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Isabela, Baguio, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Cebu, Bohol, Bacolod, Iloilo, Roxas, Kalibo, Antique, Tacloban, Samar, Davao, General Santos, Zamboanga, Butuan, Iligan, and many other locations in the Philippines with at least one radio station each.

Apart from the DRPS One and DRPS Two channels, the DRPS PHCA also operates the DRPS Three Channel (compilation channel) and DRPS Xtra Channel (online ad channel). It formerly operated DRPS Three Channel as a Commercial Break channel from 2021 to 2023, and DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings from late 2023 to early-mid 2025.

Now with tens of thousands of TV and radio ad videos published since the DRPS PHCA was founded, the DRPS One and DRPS Two channels are known as a Philippine advertising library for today. But aside from these, the DRPS PHCA has expanded its online presence through social media, which we will talk about in Part 2 of this special.

Kapuso updates for this week:

Alden Richards headlines in Rebuilding Broken Rooms; Dennis Trillo remains a Kapuso; Sparkle Campus Cutie Season 2

Kapuso TV and Film actor Alden Richards takes the step on a journey across the country that uncovers the country’s issues involving a worsening learning crisis in a GMA Public Affairs Education Special titled Rebuilding Broken Rooms, airing on GMA and on Kapuso Stream on August 8, 2026 (Saturday), at 21:30.

As the education special’s title implied following repeated promises of educational progress in the Philippines, the reality faced by millions of young learners remains deeply concerning. According to the World Bank (2022), 91% of 10-year-old Filipino children struggle to read and comprehend. As students advance through school, their proficiency continues to decline, raising urgent questions about the country’s worsening learning crisis.

The educational documentary program holds deep personal significance for Alden, whose experience of leaving school at a young age to help provide for his family inspired his lifelong commitment to education. The actor continues to use his platform to create new opportunities for the youth, with nearly fifty (5) scholars receiving support and helping build schools in underserved communities.

It will open at Tinungkaan Elementary School in Alabel, Province of Sarangani, a school identified by EDCOM II that had the highest percentage of struggling readers, where its students are classified as low-emerging readers. Despite challenges involved in crossing rivers and climbing mountains each day with Teacher Gerwin to reach their makeshift classrooms, the students remain determined to learn.

Furthermore, Rosario Almario Elementary School, situated in Tondo, Maynila, recorded the highest percentage of low-emerging readers in Metro Manila. Only seven among the ten students from that school have struggled to read and comprehend. Among them is a Grade 2 student, Jannah Will, who still cannot read a sentence in full. She sometimes misses school because her family cannot afford transportation. Although another school is located nearby, it has remained closed following a fire that hit two years ago.

Classroom shortages in some schools, including Ciudad Nuevo Elementary School in Naic, Cavite, also posed challenges to learning space improvisation. Additionally, Calubcob Elementary School made use of its vacant housing units within a residential project as temporary classrooms, enduring them against extreme heat, noise, and unsuitable learning environments.

Alden shared what he witnessed about the challenges faced by students and teachers from the documentary, and something that deeply moved him because many children have already accepted these inadequate conditions as normal.

The documentary special promised that it will answer to the country’s growing education crisis and highlight the determination of children in fighting for their right to learn and educators who refuse to give up despite limited resources.

Meanwhile, on August 4, 2026, the award-winning Kapuso TV and Film Actor and Drama King Dennis Trillo officially renewed his contract with GMA Network and has promised that he will deliver more exciting projects featuring himself, reaffirming his commitment to a network that has been home to many of his most memorable projects, including the 52nd Metro Manila Film Festival entry film Amir.

Dennis reflected on his journey as a Kapuso Drama King over the past decades, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for GMA, and noted that several program managers and executive producers who collaborated with him throughout his 26-year career were present at the contract renewal signing event.

Dennis, as an award-winning actor who was previously known for his masterful performance in the 50th MMFF entry film Green Bones, dominated in several awards given by its bodies, including Gawad Urian, Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards (The EDDYS), Box Office Hero Awards, and Pasado Awards. The actor was also named Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards, further cementing his status as Asia’s finest actors.

Exciting dahil totoong nangyayari talaga dito sa Pilipinas at makikita ninyo kung ano talaga ‘yung hirap na pinagdaanan nila sa mga panahon na ‘yun, Dennis shares about the excitement about the upcoming appearance in the 52nd MMFF entry film Amir.

Present in the contract renewal signing event were President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, and Officer-in-Charge for Entertainment Group and Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy.

Duavit commended Trillo for being part of the biggest and most demanding projects. Dennis has always been at the forefront of the challenges that face us all as producers, and our success has been greatly influenced by his presence, his friendship, his person, ‘yung pagkatao niya, he added.

Yalong also thought that Dennis is one of the finest actors the country has produced. He has portrayed so many roles that you never thought of, he added.

For more than two decades now, Dennis has proven that a true star is not defined solely by trophies, box-office movies, or high-rating teleseryes. It is also defined by the relationships that he has built along the way, his professionalism, his humility, and most of all, his power or ability to move the audience in every role he takes on, Ching-Sy pointed out, on his genuine humility and devotion as a Kapuso actor.

Also present in the event were GMA executives Nessa Valdellon, Dingdong Caharian, Gigi Santiago-Lara, Mitzi Garcia, Helen Rose S. Sese, Ali Nokom-Dedicatoria, Rosette Roa, Anj Atienza, Ruth Mariñas, and Jojo Aquio.

Dennis Trillo recently headlined with Jennylyn Mercado in a 2025 Kapuso primetime drama, Sanggang Dikit FR.

Kapamilya Updates for this week:

The Chambermaid’s Daughter Season 2 and Miss Behave Finale on iWant; Abdul and Marsy became millionaires in KDOND S6

The breakout pairing of Alexa Ilacad and BGYO member Gelo Rivera captured their hearts anew as the second season of their online hit romance microdrama series The Chambermaid’s Daughter debuted strongly on iWant since its premiere on July 30, 2026.

The latest microdrama offering from BGYO Gelo and Alexa (or GeLex) has ranked first on iWant’s most-watched charts in the Philippines and second globally. It also received a warm reception from its fans and viewers, with topics “IWANT GELEX TCD 2” and “GELEX TCD2IWANT TOPONE” among the top-trending topics on X/Twitter in the Philippines.

Under the direction of Theodore Boborol, the second season raises the stakes as Hannah (Alexa) rises from a humble room attendant to VP of operations at the very hotel where she once worked, and a loving relationship with hotel COO Daniel (Gelo).

Hannah appears to have the life she’s always dreamed of, until a new obstacle arises as she strives to earn the approval of her future mother-in-law while fending off the schemes of her ambitious half-sister to prove her place in the business and Daniel’s heart.

The first five episodes of The Chambermaid’s Daughter Season 1 were known for achieving more than five million online video views on the official social media accounts of iWant and ABS-CBN Entertainment. The show also introduced its official merchandise following the microdrama’s success.

The first part of the second season (Episodes 1 to 15) is now available for streaming on iWant, and also on the official social media accounts of the streaming platform and on ABS-CBN Entertainment (for the first five episodes). The second part (Episodes 16 to 30) is scheduled to release on August 14, 2026.

Furthermore, on August 5, 2026, ABS-CBN Studios and iWant recently dropped the finale episode of their original series, Miss Behave, also headlined by the Star Magic artist Alexa Ilacad, days after the release of the first fifteen episodes of the hit Quick Feels microdrama series The Chambermaid’s Daughter.

Alexa (Marla), together with the rest of the girls from State Omni-Standard High (“SOSH”), featuring Xyriel Manabat (Nyx), Reign Parani (Isobel), Andi Abaya (April), and Rans Rifol (Daphne) made a closing quest for redemption as they round out their plans to seek revenge on those who leaked their private photos and the anguish it caused as seen in the finale episode.

Ahead of the finale, Alexa took the opportunity to express her gratitude to everyone who has supported the Ivan Andrew Payawal-directed iWant original series since it premiered on June 3, 2026. The lead star also celebrated and thanked everyone for sparking meaningful online conversations through its empowering portrayal of women (i.e., Xyriel, Reign, Andi, and Rans), their standout performances, and the viral TikTok edits featuring its most memorable scenes from the series.

Seen in the finale episode, Marla (Alexa) reconciled with April (Andi Abaya) upon finding out that she helped leak her private photos due to her boastful reputation. But with the past set aside, Marla, alongside April, Isobel (Reign Parani), Nyx (Xyriel Manabat), and Daphne (Rans Rifol), sets her sights on prom night to unveil to the whole school the vile behavior of Cole (JC Alcantara) and his friends behind the photo leaks scandal.

On the day when the series finale was released on iWant, the cast also got together for a watch party to mark the end of their original series that consistently listed itself as one of the most watched shows in the Philippines.

All episodes of Miss Behave are now available for streaming exclusively on iWant through its subscription plans, priced locally at PHP 35.00 for the Basic plan and PHP 119.00 for the Premium plan. Kapamilyas abroad may also watch the series for the price of USD 4.99 worldwide (or equivalent currency), including the United States (promotional price until October 31, 2026).

Meanwhile, for the first time since the return of the ABS-CBN game show Kapamilya Deal or No Deal, based on the Banijay-created game show franchise of Deal or No Deal, on August 2, 2026, Content Creators Abdul and Marsy won the top prize of PHP 1,000,000.00, following their decision to oppose the final banker’s offer of PHP 560,000.00.

Before the taping, they originally planned to pick briefcase number 14 according to Marsy; however, he dreamt that selecting briefcase number 6 (Jannah Alanise Chua) made him more convinced, and upon arriving at the studio, they changed their mind and swapped it for the original briefcase. They also brought a box of six donuts for Jannah, citing that she was assigned to briefcase number 6.

The game began by allowing Abdul and Marsy to choose five cases. They chose their original briefcase assignment; they swapped for the jackpot round, which contained PHP 100,000.00, followed by briefcase number 1 (Bobby Andrews) with PHP 500,000.00, number 19 (Migs Bustos) with PHP 1.00, number 12 (Jeffrey Santos) with PHP 25.00, and number 3 (Emilio Daez) with PHP 1,000.00. Abdul and Marsy decided to decline the Banker’s first offer worth PHP 22,000.00.

Opening the next four cases in the second round for Abdul and Marsy were briefcases number 17 (Geneva Cruz) with PHP 150,000.00, number 10 (Long Mejia) with PHP 5,000.00, number 8 (Mauro Lumba) with PHP 100.00, and number 4 (Kim Rodriguez) with PHP 200.00. The content creators then decided to reject the banker’s next offer of PHP 40,000.00.

In the third round, which allowed them to choose three briefcases, they decided to open briefcases number 2 (Maui Taylor) with PHP 300.00, number 5 (Iñigo Jose) with PHP 50.00, and number 20 (Jopay Paguia-Zamora) with PHP 50,000.00. The banker wanted them to claim the offer worth PHP 60,000.00, but they considered rejecting it.

Abdul and Marsy chose briefcases number 11 (Crisha Uy) and 18 (Joyce Glorioso) in the fourth round, which allowed them to select two briefcases. The two briefcases they’ve selected are worth PHP 500.00 and PHP 400.00, respectively. The content creators decided to answer “No Deal” to the banker’s next offer worth PHP 92,000.00.

The succeeding rounds that required them to select only one from the remaining five cases intensified their gameplay in Kapamilya Deal or No Deal. They chose briefcase number 7 (Beki Velo) worth PHP 10,000.00. After they rejected their next offer worth PHP 140,000.00, they chose briefcase number 15 (Asia Yoona) worth PHP 10.00. Then, after they said “No Deal” to a PHP 180,000.00 offer, they chose briefcase number 16 (Pepay Aguilar) worth PHP 250,000.00.

They decided to reject another offer of PHP 150,000.00 and chose briefcase number 13 (Jenny Miller) with PHP 5.00 for the final round ahead of revealing their chosen briefcase if it contained either the top prize or PHP 125,000.00 from the money board. In that case, Abdul and Marsy rejected the Banker’s final offer of PHP 560,000.00 – PHP 410,000.00 higher than the previous offer.

Before they decided to reject the banker’s last offer of PHP 560,000.00, they said that it would be a big thing for the content creators, and to share it to become the first-ever millionaire of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal Season 6.

With their “No Deal” decision, Luis Manzano opened their chosen briefcase (Briefcase number 6), which contained the top prize amount of PHP 1,000,000.00, and therefore they became the first millionaires of the new season of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal. The lucky stars thanked the show, its host, and their fellow lucky stars for the opportunity to be part of the show.

Before their milestone win in the returning Kapamilya game show, lucky stars Jeffrey Santos and Kim Domingo also came close to taking home the top prize amount of PHP 1,000,000.00.
