Newsletter (8/15 to 8/21): 5 Years of DRPS PHCA Special (Part 2)

Aside from the audiovisual archiving business that how the DRPS Philippine Commercial Archives (DRPS PHCA) delivered more than a hundred thousand online video views a day on its main properties, the DRPS One and DRPS Two channels, since 2023, its digital and social media properties, branded as DRPS PHCA Free and DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings, both of which are accessed online not only on the social media accounts of DRPS PHCA on Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, and Threads, but also on the DRPSPHCA.com website and on the DRPS PHCA App, have been part of the continued reach of the DRPS PHCA since it founded on January 27, 2021.

The DRPS PHCA launched its TV Ad Listings in February 2023, which lists all TV commercials aired in each gap of a Philippine TV show. It initially counted the TV Ads of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo and Maria Clara at Ibarra, both of which were competing primetime shows when Coco Martin returned to primetime for the second time on February 13, 2023.

It also counted all TV Ads aired during some of the primetime shows aired on GMA that competed against FPJ’s Batang Quiapo during the Kapamilya show’s run from February 2023 to March 2026, including Voltes V Legacy, Maging Sino Ka Man, Black Rider, Pulang Araw, Lolong Season 2, and Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre. Today, Coco Martin headlined Sigabo on June 22, 2026, when it competed with The Master Cutter, headlined by Dingdong Dantes.

Since the show’s premiere, the DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings continued to count the two shows airing in the 20:00 timeslot. Despite Coco Martin’s Sigabo airing more TV Ads, the competitor, The Master Cutter, retained its lead in TV Ratings, according to several Nielsen Philippines NUTAM reports. The ratings lead was also applied to another GMA Prime show, Taskforce Firewall, which airs in the 20:45 slot, despite having fewer TV ads than Someone Someday.

Since the start of the finale week of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo on March 9, 2026, the DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings listed all TV Ads during several primetime shows aired on ABS-CBN, GMA, and TV5. Aside from them, the ad load-counting property continued to count all TV Ads during the commercial breaks of Roja, What Lies Beneath, The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan, Blood vs. Duty, Carlo J. Caparas’ Totoy Bato, What Lies Beneath, My Bespren Emman, and Never Say Die.

The DRPS PHCA launched its own digital media service on its social media, which was later called DRPS PHCA Free in 2024, coined from the Facebook Community Group that launched in June 2024. It also delivered special photography of some of the Philippine television-related events since March 2024, which include the Star Magical Prom (2024 and 2026), Star Magic Hot Summer (2024), Star Magic All-Star Games (2025), Star Magical Christmas (2024 and 2025), ABS-CBN Ball (2025), and GMA Gala (2024 and 2025).

The DRPS PHCA Free Live also delivered awarding ceremonies in Philippine entertainment when the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival’s Gabi ng Parangal took place on December 27, 2025. To date, aside from the 51st MMFF Gabi ng Parangal, it also delivered the Awards Night of the 7th Village Pipol Choice Awards (VPCA) and the 9th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards (The EDDYS), both of which took place in 2026.

The DRPS PHCA Free has its own pillars: Blog (news), Music (music updates), Community (Facebook community group), Live (event coverage), and its Weekly Newsletter published every Saturday.

The DRPS PHCA social media accounts have also served as the updates corner for several Pinoy Big Brother seasons, including Gen 11 and Celebrity Collab Editions 1.0 and 2.0, which were created for all fans of the housemates of these seasons of the reality show. It also shared screengrabs and video clips of scenes featuring some of the ex-housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 and Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0. With the next regular season of Pinoy Big Brother soon arriving, under the title of “Collab 3.0” in the same collaboration of ABS-CBN and GMA, the DRPS PHCA will soon deliver more updates about the recent happenings throughout the soon-to-be-built Big Brother House.

All of these properties are seen on our website, DRPSPHCA.com. Despite Google Search visibility issues for sites other than the main home page, it’s been a home for DRPS PHCA Free, DRPS PHCA Check (DRPS PHCA’s fact-checking service), and DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings (under TVAL.DRPSPHCA.com). The website began its operations in November 2025, replacing the old website under Weebly’s subdomain – DRPSPHCA.Weebly.com.

The DRPS PHCA App, on the other hand, is an Android app that features the same content as DRPSPHCA.com and TVAL.DRPSPHCA.com, available for download on the Google Play Store (for most Android devices) since June 2026, and on the Huawei AppGallery (for Huawei devices running the Android-based HarmonyOS) since February 2026.

For five years, the DRPS PHCA has not just been a name in the Philippine Advertising Archive, but also in delivering updates in Philippine Television, and everything in between. And that is how the DRPS PHCA’s success has continued since 2021.

A new PBB Collab season will soon arrive:

Pinoy Big Brother announces new regular season under an ABS-CBN-GMA collaboration, Collab 3.0; auditions are now open

On the morning of August 10, 2026, the official social media account of the “Teleserye ng Totoong Buhay” Pinoy Big Brother posted a series of teasers hinting at a possible return of the ABS-CBN-GMA collaboration for the reality show’s third season.

The first teaser post, published at 10:12, reads “1… 2…”, followed by an OK Hand emoji. Later, another teaser post was published on PBB’s social media accounts at 12:09, with a photo of a hand depicting the same emoji from the previous post and featuring the 2025 PBB Eye Logo (featuring embossed monogram logos of GMA and ABS-CBN) in the center.

The OK Hand emoji depiction from the post also showed three fingers raised, which netizens later speculated might be a third edition of “Celebrity Collab Edition”. The caption from the post reads two waving-hand emojis, followed by the Philippine flag and globe emojis after each waving-hand emoji (or “Hello Philippines, Hello World!” the common greeting heard during Pinoy Big Brother).

After several social media posts featuring some of the ex-housemates of Pinoy Big Brother, contrary to rumors on social media that there will be a new Celebrity Collab Edition season to arrive, the collaboration of ABS-CBN and GMA for Pinoy Big Brother continues with a new Big Brother house, as the “Teleserye ng Totoong Buhay” announced that it will feature regular housemates aged 18 to 35 years old (age bracket born from 1991 to 2008) for the upcoming new season, titled “Pinoy Big Brother: Collab 3.0”.

The announcement of the new ABS-CBN-GMA PBB season offering was made recently on It’s Showtime, where it featured some of the ex-housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Collab 1.0 and 2.0, including Mika Salamanca, Lella Ford, Will Ashley, Klarisse de Guzman, Ashley Sarmiento, Marco Masa, Joaquin Arce, and AC Bonifacio, to name a few.

Pinoy Big Brother also announced that the online auditions for Collab 3.0 will commence through the ABS-CBN Join Now website, which began last night during 24 Oras, and will accept online auditionees until August 31, 2026, at 23:59.

Pinoy Big Brother Collab 3.0 is the third season of Pinoy Big Brother under a collaboration between the franchise holder of Big Brother in the Philippines, ABS-CBN, and the Philippines’ multimedia leader in broadcast and digital media, GMA Network. Previously, PBB Collab 1.0 and 2.0 featured 20 celebrities each season, with Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca, and Lella Ford and Caprice Cayetano holding their Big Winner titles on July 5, 2025, and February 28, 2026, respectively.

PBB Collab 3.0 would also be the first regular season of Pinoy Big Brother (featuring civilian housemates, i.e., Fyang Smith, Kai Montinola, Kolette Madelo, and Rain Celmar from PBB Gen 11, its previous regular season) under the Kapamilya-Kapuso collaboration, and would be located in a new house.

To date, the details for the next PBB season and its auditions have been announced (through It’s Showtime), but the full address of the newly built house and its possible design are currently in progress, and the details will be announced soon.

The relocation of the Pinoy Big Brother house follows an interview on TV Patrol with MJ Felipe and Laurenti Dyogi on March 24, 2026, in which he, Direk Lauren, said that the relocation of the old house built in August 2005 has been considered and that they will build a new one for future PBB seasons.
