Jaime Fabregas, played by the role of Datu Rahman, the father of Jalil (Gerald Anderson) and Jamilah (Barbie Imperial), bids his farewell following the character’s death through fatal shooting by Felix (Baron Geisler) in a Kapamilya primetime series, Blood vs. Duty, which the finale episode will release on Netflix by tomorrow, July 21, 2026.
In an episode aired last Friday, July 17, 2026, Richard Gutierrez and Gerald Anderson-starrer culminated in Felix’s fatal shooting of Datu Rahman, a beloved character whose courage as a community leader and devotion as a father had endeared him to viewers.
Jaime penned Blood vs. Duty in his appearance as a Muslim character, following the character’s untimely death by shooting, during an interview on Inside The Truth with Maya Mae Kalaw. Jalil also grieves the death of his adoptive father, while Marcus (Richard) prepares to arrest him, unaware that Jalil is actually his long-lost brother.
Blood vs. Duty, which premiered via Netflix on April 3, 2026, was known for its refreshing narrative that explores family ties and systemic problems within the government and the strength of a united community.
Also on the day when Datu Rahman passed away in Blood vs. Duty, was a thanksgiving show together with Ejay Falcon, River Joseph, Kolette Madelo, and Gerald Anderson, which took place at the Festive Walk Mall, Iloilo. The show delivered a heartwarming support for the reception their series has received since its premiere.
Apart from Netflix, Blood vs. Duty: The Duty Lives On will also release its finale episode via iWant on July 22, 2026, and via Kapamilya Channel, ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, and TFC (for Kapamilyas abroad, through pay TV and IPTV platforms) on July 24, 2026.
And on July 27, 2026, Someone Someday will replace the timeslot allocated for Blood vs. Duty, at 20:45 (after Coco Martin’s Sigabo), airing on the same ABS-CBN channels, alongside Netflix (on July 24, 2026), iWant (on July 25, 2026), and TV5.
As the wait is almost over for Her Majesty, Maja Salvador, in her primetime comeback for the series, ABS-CBN dropped its vertical videos featuring its scene drops of her character, where she takes on a mysterious role as Abi Mercado, the number one fan of Billy (Kathryn), but a caring yet abused daughter and an enemy.
Her deep admiration and obsession for Billy are highlighted as she seems to secretly slip into her room, keeps stalking, and even tries on her personal belongings, revealing her desire to become more like the woman she idolizes. Abi is also an obedient daughter who takes good care of her ailing mother (Rita Avila), yet endures constant abuse from her, despite all efforts.
She also shows her growing resentment towards Billy, which leads to an intense confrontation as Abi lashes out at her idol-turned-enemy, only for Billy to call her a liar before the encounter ends with a punch.
Alam kong I’m home. There are many reasons why I accepted this project, and isa na doon ang gusto kong makatrabaho sina Kathryn and James. Isa itong napakagandang role, Maja expressively shared about what she did for the upcoming Kapamilya series.
Apart from Maja, Someone Someday stars its lead artists Kathryn Bernardo and James Reid, together with Dimples Romana, Rowell Santiago, McCoy de Leon, Daniela Stranner, and introducing Migz Casimiro. Chad Vidanes and Dolly Lulu direct this latest primetime drama offering.
Furthermore, the primetime drama dropped its official playlist on Spotify and YouTube, featuring eleven songs that are featured in the series, including Pauwi Na, Sandal, Traffic, Hurt Me Too, and Pahinga (feat. TJ Monterde) by James Reid, as well as Abelyana (Maki), The Puzzle (Belle Mariano), Kulimlim (Angela Ken), Sugal (Bryan Chong), Tabla Tayo (Fana Laguerras), and Mag-Isa Lang Ako (Shaniah Rollo).
