A new P-Pop group has emerged with a new offering, as AZTER turns your experiences into music with the release of their debut school campus-inspired album, Univerzity. The debut album, available on all music platforms a few days ago, is a seven-track collection that explores friendship, heartbreak, uncertainty, healing, and self-discovery.
AZTER is a 12-member P-Pop group comprised of Kean, Charlie, Tatin, Gee, Alas, Laurence, Wayne, Loyd, Kiel, Gem, Miguel, and Cray, and its name carries a special meaning, drawing inspiration from the aster, a flower associated with blooming, as well as a star that shines brightly. For the group themselves, their mantra is to reflect a blossom like a flower and shine like a star. Alongside AXIS, the name represents their two sub-units: the letter “Z” from its name, referring to “Zodiac”.
The seven-track album released under StarPop features Parang May Mali, Kupido, Kick Ball Challenge, K Dot, OTW, Unlove You, and Boys Night Out, all composed and produced not only by one of the group members, Gee, but also by Roel Rostata, Patrick Rodriguez, John Reinard Fernandez, Jungee Marcelo, Renz Jomel Salazar, Ron Pangyarihan, and Randy Preysto. The album was overall produced by Roque Santos, the label head of StarPop.
Its key track, Parang May Mali, captures the frustration of feeling stuck in the same situation while holding on to the hope that things will eventually change. Through Univerzity, the group hopes to deliver a sound that continues to evolve beyond trends and to encourage its listeners and the youth to embrace their individuality, believe in themselves, and pursue their dreams.
We have always thought that having so many members is our strength as a group, and we wanted to make use of that. We intended to incorporate school, university, and classroom themes to embody the concept that each member has different individualities, and when together, we make one great team; AZTER reflected the campus concept for their debut album.
Through the making of the songs, the visuals, and concepts, we made sure that we always had our input in the ideas and work. Gee has written and solely composed three songs from the album. Kean, Laurence, Kiel, Tatin, Cray, and other members, along with our coaches, brainstormed the choreography of each song; they added.

Meanwhile, Queen of R&B Kyla marks another milestone with the release of her first-ever vinyl album under Backspacer Records, titled Next Episode, alongside the release of the Bring Your Jacket visualizer on the official YouTube channel of ABS-CBN Star Music.
The vinyl album, featuring tracks Stand Up, Kaya Ko Yan, Back To Bliss, and many others, which were all released back in October 2025, gives its fans an opportunity to experience her music in a physical media format. Kyla shared that having a physical copy of Next Episode carries special meaning, especially at a time when most listeners consume music through streaming platforms like Spotify and YouTube Music.
As a batang 90s, as a millennial, nare-relish ko yung ganitong pagkakataon na nagkakaroon uli ng physical copies ng albums, especially ngayon kasi lahat nasa streaming. Iba yung value when you have a physical copy kasi you grow with the songs; Kyla shared about the vinyl album.
She also said that the deluxe edition of Next Episode will feature new songs and is currently in the process of being released to the public. Bring Your Jacket, one of the latest offerings from the vinyl album, is a feel-good track about the many ways one can express what he feels without saying it outright.
It’s a song about the many ways you can say ‘I love you’ to someone that you like or you love without having to say the words ‘I love you.’ It’s a beautiful song, and it has a good vibe that you can listen to while driving, Kyla added.
Kyla was among the nominees for Best R&B Recording for her song, Stand Up, in the 2026 Awit Awards. Masaya ako kasi parang ang tagal na since no’ng huling nagkaroon ako ng nomination. I’m just hoping for the best; whatever the outcome is, she shared that she was nominated by the said award-giving body.
