Entertainment: Vic-Meme Vice for The Greatest Showdown, The 9th EDDYS Awards

In a New Movie Alert announcement event held at the Gateway Mall 2 Quantum Skyview, which also filled with music and entertainment from several singers of ABS-CBN Music, Unkabogable Superstar Vice Ganda and Bossing Vic Sotto will share the big screen for the first time in a highly anticipated movie offering, The Greatest Showdown, a co-production between ABS-CBN Studios, Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company, M-Zet Productions, and APT Entertainment.

Vice and Vic are known as the lead hosts of two respective noontime shows – It’s Showtime on ABS-CBN for Vice, and Eat Bulaga on TV5 for Vic.

The New Movie Alert announcement event featured several ABS-CBN Music artists, including Showtime Baby Dolls, Bryan Chong, Miah, Jarea, Janah Zaplan, Maven, Erghyll, Wrive, Ian Manibale, Fana Laguerras, Angia, Zion Aguirre, and Ban. Milo Elmido Jr. also hosted the said announcement event. Jun Robles-Lana directs this upcoming film.

Following Meme Vice’s appearance in the new film announcement event, he presented an award for Box Office Hero in the 9th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards (The EDDYS), alongside Maricel Soriano, Joshua Garcia, Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, and Richard Gutierrez.

Furthermore, related to The 9th EDDYS Choice Awards, organized by the Society of the Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), the following films and related artists, who appeared in one of each, including well-known people in the entertainment industry, were given these awards, during the yesterday’s awarding ceremony held at the Ceremonial Hall of the Marriott Grand Ballroom, situated in the Newport World Resorts, Pasay City:

  • Best Supporting Actress: Rochelle Pangilinan (Child no. 82, Anak ni Boy Kana)

  • Best Cinematography: Salvageland (Moises M.M. Zee)
  • Best Editing Award: Sunshine (Benjamin Gonzales-Tolentino)
  • Best Sound Award: Manila’s Finest (Roy Santos, Neil Diokno)
  • Best Visual Effects Award: Shake, Rattle & Roll Evil Origins (Santelmo, Bien Michael Caralian, Vincent Cheng, and Jimmy dela Cruz)
  • Best Musical Score: Manila’s Finest (Frederik Sandoval, Emerzon Texon)
  • Best Original Theme Song: Sandalan (Manila’s Finest)
  • Best Actor: Jericho Rosales (Quezon)
  • Best Actress: Maris Racal (Sunshine)

The 9th EDDYS Choice Awards featured Pinoy Big Brother ex-housemates Fred Moser and Kanata Tapia, and the cast of ImPerfect for the opening performance. Also at the said awarding ceremony, Jamie Rivera presented a tribute performance honoring the deaths of well-known people from 2025 and 2026, followed by a performance by Isha Ponti and a final performance by Andrea Gutierrez and David Young, before it called for the awards night.

Kim Atienza and Pops Fernandez hosted the 9th EDDYS Choice Awards night.
