​As the Voice of the President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. is about to happen later this afternoon to address the nation (happening annually, every July of each year), below are the following happenings involving the electing a senate president, house speaker, and among others.

Involving the Senate of the Philippines:
Senate President: Sen. Chiz Escudero will remain his position as a Senate President for the opening of the 20th Congress, with a 19-5 votes (19 of senators have voted for Chiz, while 5 of them chose Sen. Tito Sotto III).
Senate Leaders: Sen. Joel Villanueva was elected as the Majority Leader of the Senate for the 20th Congress, with Sen. Tito Sotto was also elected, but as a Minority Leader.
Senators who will Skip SONA 2025: Following the recent calamities in Luzon (typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong), Sen. Imee Marcos had decided to skip this year’s State of the Nation Address. Apart from her, Senators Bong Go, Ronald dela Rosa, and Robin Padilla had also followed suit to skip SONA 2025.

Involving the House of Representatives:
House Speaker: For the 20th Congress, with 269 of votes, Leyte Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez is elected as a House Speaker.
House Majority Leader: The son of Pres. Marcos Jr., Sandro Marcos, was elected as the House Majority Leader for the 20th Congress.
House Independent Members: Davao City Representatives Paolo Duterte, Omar Duterte, and Isidro Ungab, and PPP Partylist representative Harold Duterte are declared as the House of Representatives’ independent members.

Other:
For Acting Ombudsman, Justice Mariflor Punzalan-Castillo was elected from here.

Chiz Escudero (the majority bloc): Alan Peter Cayetano, Pia Cayetano, Raffy Tulfo, Erwin Tulfo, Jinggoy Estrada, JV Ejercito, Mark Villar, Camille Villar, Joel Villanueva, Ronald dela Rosa, Bong Go, Robin Padilla, Rodante Marcoleta, Imee Marcos, Win Gatchalian, Lito Lapid, Bam Aquino, and Kiko Pangilinan.
Tito Sotto III (the minority bloc): Ping Lacson, Loren Legarda, Migz Zubiri, and Risa Hontiveros.
