Fake News Alert – March 1, 2024

Aside from our blog regarding our investigation of a Facebook page who have posted a false news on TV Show Ratings and Advertiser Loads as what “Prok Noy” and “BES PHILS” has done recently, we have also seen other fake news posts that you should beware of that. Here you go:

It has came to an attention that one of the members of APO Hiking Society named Boboy Garovillo was passed away recently at 9h45 at the age of 72 due to his complications of heart attack, as what a Facebook Post from “Jonel” has claimed from a Facebook Group.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news from the friends and families of Boboy Garovillo, including the members of the APO Hiking Society (whether it is current or former) that he was declared dead recently and his current health condition at the time being was fine as it is. THUS, THIS IS FALSE AND MISLEADING, AS WELL AS DEATH HOAX. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS IF YOU HAVE SEEN ONE OF THESE NEWS.

A claim from an unknown member of a Facebook Group has claimed that several Free-To-Air Channels on Digital Terrestrial Television (i.e. TV5, One Sports, GMA, GTV, A2Z, and etc.) is soon to air in Full High Definition (FHD, 1920×1080, 1080p).

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news from several broadcasters that some of the Digital Terrestrial Television channels will soon to air in Full High Definition, and the only truth is, they are currently broadcasting in Standard Definition format (SD) at the moment. Some broadcasters do also air in Full High Definition, i.e. RPTV on DTT RF 19 DT 19.2, INCTV on DTV RF 49 DT 1.x, ALLTV on DTV RF 16 DT 2.1, and among others (some channels may also offer this). Any claims like these are FALSE AND MISLEADING.
