DRPS PHCA is here to fight against fake news in terms of Philippine TV and Radio, but for our today’s Fake News Alert, most of the news we’ve seen are using our name for the purpose of false citation (or using the term “DRPS PHCA” as a source) which may cause damages to the reputation of DRPS PHCA, DRPS PHCA Social and DRPS PHCA Online. Below are the following Fake News Posts that you should beware of:

There is a claim from an anonymous person who posted a Facebook Post on a PHTV-related Facebook Group, claiming that we, DRPS PHCA, has posted a news regarding that Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) will launch their own News Channel by January 1, 2024, which will serve as a replacement to PIE Channel on BEAM’s DTV Signal, which is slated to cease their on-air operations by December 31, 2023.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news from DRPS PHCA, RMN and BEAM TV that RMN will launch their own news channel once PIE Channel ceases their on-air transmission on BEAM TV’s DTV Signal by December 31, 2023. Thus, this is FALSE and MISLEADING, as well as PLAGIARISM for using DRPS PHCA as their source regarding this, because WE DID NOT POST A NEWS OF THAT.

There is a claim from an anonymous person who posted a Facebook Post on a PHTV-related Facebook Group, claiming that we, DRPS PHCA, has posted a news regarding that GMA Network has announced a new season for Starstruck on it’s eighth season and it’s Kids Edition (on it’s second season) by next year.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news from DRPS PHCA, GMA and Sparkle GMAAC that GMA will renew the Starstruck series on it’s eighth season and it’s Kids Edition on it’s second season by 2024. Thus, all of these claims are FALSE, MISLEADING, and PLAGIARISM. Please stand by for the official Facebook Accounts of GMA Network, Sparkle GMA Artist Center and Starstruck for any further developments regarding Starstruck.

Apart from the false news claim from an anonymous member on a Facebook Group (regarding the RMN News TV Launch on BEAM TV by January 1, 2024, which is false, misleading and plagiarism from using DRPS PHCA’s name for false citation purposes), “Robbie” has posted a comment that a claim regarding Teleradyo Serbisyo will become available on Digital Terrestrial Television by next year.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news from ABS-CBN, MediaSerbisyo Corporation and Creative Programs, Inc. that Teleradyo Serbisyo can be viewed on Digital Terrestrial Television by 2024. Thus, this is FALSE and MISLEADING. If you want to watch Teleradyo Serbisyo, you can find them on Pay TV and Social Media Platforms, as well as on iWantTFC for Kapamilyas Abroad and throughout the country.

There is a claim from an anonymous person who posted a Facebook Post on a PHTV-related Facebook Group, claiming that we, DRPS PHCA, has posted a news regarding that if SMNI was forcibly shut down by the government, then our Philippine President Bongbong Marcos will renew it’s broadcast franchise to ABS-CBN, even by the anonymous person’s claim that this shall be done by 2024.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news from DRPS PHCA and ABS-CBN that the Kapamilya Network will renew it’s broadcast franchise by PBBM this 2024, or if SMNI was forcibly shut down by the government (arising from the fake news and other controversies surrounding the network). All of these have a rating of FALSE, MISLEADING and PLAGIARISM.

There is a claim from an anonymous person who posted a Facebook Post on a PHTV-related Facebook Group, claiming that we, DRPS PHCA, has posted a news regarding that Zephanie will be taking part as a candidate for Binibining Pilipinas 2024.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news from DRPS PHCA, Zephanie, Sparkle GMA Artist Center and Binibining Pilipinas that Zephanie will be part of the candidates for Binibining Pilipinas 2024. Thus, this is FALSE, MISLEADING and PLAGIARISM. Please stand by for further updates by the official social media accounts of Zephanie and Sparkle GMA Artist Center for more updates on her showbiz journey, as well as Binibining Pilipinas for the official list of candidates for their 2024 edition.

There is a claim from an anonymous person who posted a Facebook Post on a PHTV-related Facebook Group, claiming that we, DRPS PHCA, has posted a news regarding that the ISDB-T DTV Standards, which is used in the Philippines at the moment, will be replaced with ATSC 3.0 (or Next Gen TV in the US) by 2024.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news or any implementing rules and regulations from DRPS PHCA, NTC and DICT (including DTV Pilipinas if this was involved in any further fake news like this) that the ISDB-T DTV Standards in the Philippines will be replaced with ATSC 3.0, otherwise known as Next Gen TV in the United States by 2024. Thus, all of these claims like that are FALSE and MISLEADING, and it is also PLAGIARISM for using DRPS PHCA’s name as a source.
