Fake News Alerts – February 16, 2024

At DRPS PHCA, we are committed to provide a fact-checking of social media posts that indeed a false claim as what we have seen recently. These three fake news posts that you might beware of in the past ten days (despite it’s few, because there are a small number of newer fake news posts in PH TV and Radio are complaining):

A claim from “Renzo” on a Facebook Group has claimed that Pinoy Big Brother Season 11 (which is among of the Offerings of the Kapamilya Network that are slated to happen this 2024), is set  to premiere this May 4, 2024 and it will be titled as “Probinsya”. The said claim, however, was falsively claimed from DRPS PHCA, which we did not post something relevant about PBB Season 11’s premiere.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news from ABS-CBN, ABS-CBN PR, Pinoy Big Brother, Star Magic, Star Hunt, and DRPS PHCA that Pinoy Big Brother Season 11 will be named as “Probinsya” and will be premiered by May 4, 2024. Thus, this is FALSE and MISLEADING. As of this date, IT WAS ONLY MENTIONED in the Kapamilya Network’s 2024 Offerings, but there is no news regarding the upcoming auditions for this reality show franchise. It is also PLAGIARISM for using our name as source.

We highly urge the public to only follow the social media accounts of ABS-CBN, ABS-CBN PR, Pinoy Big Brother, Star Magic and Star Hunt for the auditions of PBB Season 11, as well as any further updates regarding the said reality show. In addition, please only use the DRPS PHCA’s name on your social media posts that are claimed to be TRUTHFUL and ACCURATE, or for the purpose of citation purposes.

Aside from the fake news post regarding the “PBB Season 11 Probinsya” case that Renzo has made, he also made an another claim that deems to be an upcoming initial telecast of Frontline Pilipinas Regional Edition – one was it’s Central Visayas edition, the other is about the Southern Mindanao edition, which was claimed that this shall be telecast by April 1, 2024, and it has been sourced by us, despite we didn’t post about this.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE.
There is no such news from TV5, News5, and DRPS PHCA that Frontline Pilipinas will have it’s regional edition in Central Visayas and Southern Mindanao Regions that shall be initiate it’s telecast by April 1, 2024. THUS, THIS IS FALSE AND MISLEADING, and the only truth is, that Frontline Pilipinas and Frontline Tonight are the only newscasts that are broadcast on TV5 (with simulcast on OnePH and Radyo5 True FM).

An another false claim from a different member of the same group, named “Showtime Barkada”, has claimed that one of the well-known actress of Sparkle GMA Artist Center (and the other half of Barda, with David Licauco), Barbie Forteza, was passed away a few days ago.

OUR VERDICT: FALSE AND DEATH HOAX.
There is no such news from the friends, families and relatives, including GMA Network and Sparkle GMA Artist Center that Barbie Forteza was passed away a few days ago. Thus, THIS IS A FAKE AND HIGHLY DEATH HOAX POST that you should beware of.

Please only trust any of the official social media accounts of GMA Network and Sparkle GMA Artist Center for more updates of your favorite celebrities of the said talent agency.
