While we are here to fight against fake news in terms of Philippine TV and Radio, but for our today’s Fake News Alert, most of the news we’ve seen are using our name for the purpose of false citation (or using the term “DRPS PHCA” as a source) which may cause damages to the reputation of DRPS PHCA, DRPS PHCA Social and DRPS PHCA Online.

These Fake News Posts we have seen on December 12, 2023 that you should beware of, as featured on our own website’s Fake News Alert  blog, mostly using our name as their news source despite the fact that we haven’t posted something like this.

1. RMN to launch a news channel on BEAM TV’s DTV Signal by January 1, 2024? FALSE!
2. GMA Network to announce Starstruck this 2024? FALSE!
3. Teleradyo Serbisyo to become available on DTV this 2024? FALSE!
4. ABS-CBN to renew it’s franchise if SMNI was forcibly shut down? FALSE!
5. Zephanie to be part of the candidates for Binibining Pilipinas 2024? FALSE!
6. ISDB-T, to be replaced with ATSC 3.0 in the Philippines by 2024? FALSE!

We have heard the news from various outlets, including Kroma Entertainment, who owns PIE Channel, that this channel will end it’s operations over the air by December 31, 2023. Thus, this channel will go online-only on the following day, January 1, 2024.

As per PR Statement issued on November 24, 2023, the channel will transition into a fully digital platform rather from the on-air platforms, which was broadcast on BEAM TV’s Digital TV Stations, as well as on selected cable TV providers. PIE Channel is a co-partnership with ABS-CBN and 917Ventures which was introduced to our Filipino viewers on May 23, 2022.

We all know that this Digital TV Channel was known for making this as their own Magic Remote Control using a combination of PIE Channel Account using a phone number, a TV Set that has a Digital TV Tuner or a Pay TV Box installed (or even the Internet on your TV if you want to view them online), an Internet connection connected to their phones, tablets and personal computers and the Interactivity Page, you will think that you can interact each action with it.

If January 1, 2024 was passed, it will become only available online only, and not over-the-air, as what KROMA has said in the statement. While we already heard that there will be some new offerings on ABS-CBN Channels this 2024, as what it mentioned during the previously held ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2023 (which is taped at Araneta Colliseum in December 13 and to be broadcast this weekend, December 16 and 17), then we also enlisted what are the Kapamilya shows that you already seen in the past this 2023.

You already know that FPJ’s Batang Quiapo was the still the number 1 20h00 TV Series of 2023, compared to GMA’s series during that time (based on Nielsen and Kantar Media Reports of the past), while you already know their well-known TV Series they promised on their 2023 video (including those that has not been mentioned in here), such as Dirty Linen, Senior High, Can’t Buy Me Love, Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, Nag-Aapoy na Damdamin, and a lot more, whether on-air or online.
