Newsletter (6/20 to 6/26): Coco Martin and Julia Montes are back for Sigabo, premiering on June 22, 2026, via ABS-CBN platforms

This Monday, June 22, 2026, at 20:00, ABS-CBN Studios, CCM Film Productions, and Dreamscape Entertainment will set the action and romance high on Primetime Bida, as Coco Martin and Julia Montes will headline the action-packed series Sigabo.

The trailer, which was released a few days ago, teases its cinematic production, blending elevated action scenes, combined with the highest kilig factor and light-hearted scenes between the Hari ng Aksyon ng Ating Henerasyon and the Prime Actress.

Meet Gabo, portrayed by Coco, a devoted son and ex-convict who takes on a secret mission in exchange for his freedom, and eventually he crosses paths with Sam (Julia), a lawyer who also works as an investigative agent.

Coco, as a main actor, co-director, and co-producer, expressed his own original concept that combines his name as a signature brand of action, complete with a mix of entertaining romance and comedy, promising compelling storytelling that will resonate with Filipino viewers on weeknights. Coco said in his interview on TV Patrol that he is proud of his project because of what he upgraded during the eras of two of the most-watched ABS-CBN primetime shows, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

Meanwhile, respected industry personalities Erik Matti and Roselle Monteverde, along with movie icon Senator Lito Lapid and cast member Mark Lapid, have all expressed admiration for his body of work, from the remarkable successes of these two ABS-CBN primetime shows headlined by Coco Martin, saying that he truly deserves to be called as the Hari ng Aksyon sa Ating Henerasyon, or translated in English as The King of Action of Our Generation.

It’s Coco who really brought back the excitement of action movies and series. ‘Pag gawa niya ng aksyon, action all the way. He started it again when no one else was looking into action, Erik Matti shared in another interview on TV Patrol.

The trailer, which achieved more than 6.3 million online views across all social media platforms of ABS-CBN, Dreamscape Entertainment, and CCM-FP in just 24 hours alone, drawn positive reviews as the action king is about to return on June 22, 2026, at 20:00. The whole casts of Sigabo, including Coco and Julia, stood the bar and excitement high as they held their motorcade stops in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Cavite. Sigabo will also hold two more stops taking place today in Palawan at 16:00 and in Pampanga on June 28, 2026.

Furthermore, viewers of TV5 may also experience the fast-paced action of Coco Martin and Julia Montes in Coco Martin’s Sigabo on June 22, 2026, alongside Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, ALLTV2, A2Z, and iWant. The announcement regarding the airing of Sigabo on TV5 was recently made in a press release from ABS-CBN and TV5, stating that more Filipinos can now join the excitement of the CocoJul-led primetime series as it will begin airing on TV5 starting on June 22, 2026, at 20:00, simultaneously airing on the other ABS-CBN channels and platforms.

This initiative provides Filipinos, both Kapatid and Kapamilya, with more platforms to enjoy quality stories and experiences, according to the TV5 President and CEO Guido Zaballero. He also added that with Sigabo’s arrival on TV5 and the expanded reach of Face To Face with Ate Koring, which will also air on ABS-CBN platforms on June 29, 2026, more Filipinos will enjoy their programming, which brings fun and inspiration.

With the return of ABS-CBN’s programming to TV5, limited to Sigabo, the most-awaited primetime comeback of Coco Martin is finally here to bring fresh excitement to viewers. Apart from Coco and Julia, Sigabo also stars JC De Vera, JM De Guzman, Arci Muñoz, Sue Ramirez, Jhong Hilario, Edu Manzano, Carmi Martin, Chanda Romero, Irma Adlawan, Joey Marquez, and many others.

ABS-CBN remains committed to being in the Service of the Filipino, as the network continues to find ways to bring inspiring and entertaining programs to more Kapamilyas by working with more platforms.

PBB Collab Ex-Housemates Update:

Esnyr releases 54-minute First Day High video, Caprice and Heath Headline You’re My Favorite Song on GMA Afternoon Prime

Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition Kapamilya Ex-Housemate Esnyr Ranollo, known for his recent appearance in a GMA-ABS-CBN collaboration series, The Secrets of Hotel 88, paves the way for the return of his own “High School Series”, through the recently released 54-minute YouTube video published on his own channel, titled “First Day High,” on the evening of June 14, 2026 (Sunday).

The latest installment of the popular series featured some of the ex-housemates of PBB Celebrity Collab Edition, most of whom came from the first season – including the Pamilya de Guzman, consisting of Klarisse de Guzman, Shuvee Etrata, Will Ashley, and Mika Salamanca, and Brent Manalo – together with the second season’s Kapamilya 2nd Big Placer Krystal Mejes.

Also starring in the star-studded online film are Vice Ganda, Jeremiah Ong, Jayson David, Anthony Constantino, Bella Belen, Mimiyuuuh, Empoy Marquez, Donny Pangilinan, Belle Mariano, Enchong Dee, Alyanna Angeles, Shan Vesagas, Joy Barcomma, Donna Cariaga, Jose Caretero, and many others.

The First Day High film achieved more than 14 million online video views, about five days after its release on his official YouTube channel. Esnyr reminded its viewers and fellow fans to support only original content, citing “behind the film’s content is time, effort, and hard work,” and not to reupload the content as a whole.

Esnyr, known as the “Son-Sensational Viral Beshie of Davao del Sur”, is an ex-housemate from Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition, where he, together with Kapuso housemate Charlie Fleming, teamed up for the CharEs duo in the final few weeks of the edition’s run. The duo was named the 3rd Big Placer duo during the said edition’s Big Night on July 5, 2025. As an artist of ABS-CBN’s talent agency arm, Star Magic, apart from The Secrets of Hotel 88, he also appeared as Vince de Guzman in the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Call Me Mother, headlined by Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre.

Meanwhile, Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 Big Winner Caprice Cayetano and 2nd Big Placer Heath Jornales, known by the public as CapEath, bring their on-screen chemistry to the next level as they headline their first-ever Kapuso series project, through You’re My Favorite Song, together with fellow housemates and Sparkle artists Marco Masa and John Clifford, scheduled to premiere on June 22, 2026, on GMA.

Produced by GMA Public Affairs – the current affairs arm of GMA Network – the latest Afternoon Prime offering directed by the acclaimed filmmaker JP Habac (the man behind the popular film “I’m Drunk, I Love You”), based on an original concept by Mark Ivan Caro, and written by Erwin Caezar Bravo (who were behind the hit primetime series Black Rider and My Ilonggo Girl), is a heartfelt journey filled with love, music, and aspiration.

Viewers can look forward to their portrayals of each respective role, which interweaves themes of family, friendship, love, and the pursuit of one’s dreams. The premise is a journey of Angel Dimaculangan (Caprice), a 16-year-old genius who moves to Solmera City with a goal in mind – to help her beloved grandfather, Lolo Xavi, fulfill his lifelong dream of building a resort on their beachfront property.

What began as a hopeful new chapter has ended up in an uphill battle when the powerful Montaverde empire sets its sights on their land, resulting in what would be a possible threatening happening that Angel and Lolo Xavi have worked for. Despite an unlikely group of Generation Z and Generation Alpha allies, Angel, equipped with a brilliant mind, may hold her ground against greedy forces determined to shutter their future.

The series also promises an engaging blend of family drama, youthful romance, friendship, and high-stakes conflict as Angel is going to protect their dream and to navigate the challenges of adolescence.

Marco Masa and John Clifford, the Kapuso ex-housemates of PBB Collab 2.0 who were working together for You’re My Favorite Song, expressed their gratitude for appearing in the upcoming Afternoon Prime series.

Marco shared that he is excited because after he was evicted from the Big Brother House, it is his first-ever series that the taping is continuously going on with Clifford, his fellow ex-housemate.

Clifford then expressed that You’re My Favorite Song would be his first project post-PBB Collab 2.0. This is a dream come true dahil dati pinag-uusapan lang namin ito sa Bahay ni Kuya. Now, natupad na po talaga, he added.

Alongside Caprice, Heath, Marco, and Clifford, the series will bring the energy and depth into the vibrant world of Brighton Bay Academy and Solmera City with three additional Kapuso ex-housemates from the same PBB season as theirs – Waynona Collings, Princess Aliyah, and Lee Victor, together with Kairo Lazarte, Andrei Fajardo, Geo Mhanna, Boboy Garrovillo, Katya Santos, James Blanco, Kazel Kinouchi, and Wilma Doesnt.

You’re My Favorite Song is scheduled to premiere on June 22, 2026, airing from Monday to Friday at 16:00, after Kamao (headlined by Anton Vinzon of PBB Collab 2.0), on GMA Afternoon Prime (replacing Apoy Sa Dugo).
