Featured Article: DRPS PHCA’s Retrospective 2025, coming this New Year’s Eve

2025 will soon come to an end, and the DRPS PHCA is here to bring you the past news we’ve shared in Philippine Entertainment, as well as what we’ve seen in advertising through television and on the radio, in DRPS PHCA’s “Retrospective 2025”, a rewind special published annually on December 31 since 2022 – the 4th edition since it’s launch. As DRPS PHCA turns five this January 27, 2026, we’re here to offer something new to our viewers and followers across all our YouTube channels and social media pages.
Like what we did in the past Retrospective Specials in 2023, there will be two editions – the DRPS PHCA Free Edition (focusing on our social media posts like news, coverages, and more), and the DRPS PHCA Archive Edition (focusing on all of our TV and Radio ad videos on DRPS One and DRPS Two channels on YouTube). It will also feature a list of past TV Shows you have seen on ABS-CBN and GMA throughout the year (with what viewers are about to see in these two networks this 2026).
And because we also shared some of the news featuring Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 ex-housemates, we will also have a bonus part of this edition, called the “Gen 11 Edition”, which takes a look back on the TV and online series, music videos, and songs you’ve seen or heard within the year, featuring the ex-housemates of that PBB Season – including the most prominent ones, JM Ibarra, Fyang Smith, Kai Montinola, Jarren Garcia, Kolette Madelo, and Rain Celmar.
Here’s what you need to know about the DRPS PHCA Retrospective 2025 Special:
For our DRPS PHCA Free Edition of this Retrospective Special, most of the news we’ve shared and its latest happenings in the Philippine Media and Entertainment Industry, which include the airing of ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother on GMA, the rebranding of iWantTFC as iWant, which emphasized its streaming service as a paid platform, the return of Encantadia on GMA as “Sang’gre”, the relaunch of DZMM Teleradyo and DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 from its former names – Teleradyo Serbisyo and DWPM Radyo 630, the end of airing ABS-CBN Shows on TV5 this New Year’s Day, and our coverages we’ve shared on our social media, like the ABS-CBN Ball 2025, the GMA Gala 2025, the Star Magic All Star Games 2025, and the Star Magical Christmas 2025.
Ahead of the Retrospective 2025’s release, the DRPS PHCA will also cover the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival’s Gabi ng Parangal, happening this December 27, 2025, which will soon be shown on DRPS PHCA’s social media pages (Facebook and X/Twitter), and will document the awards on our DRPS PHCA Free Edition of this rewind special this December 31, 2025. It would be the first live coverage on DRPS PHCA Free to feature an awarding ceremony in Philippine Entertainment.
For our DRPS PHCA Archive Edition of this Rewind Special, we’ll take a look back at the past TV and Radio Commercials in the Philippines of the year 2025, which featured their newest celebrity endorsements of various brands, the Political Advertisements of the senatorial candidates and partylist groups in the 2025 Midterm Polls that ran from February 11, 2025, to May 10, 2025, and other TV Ads you haven’t seen them before.
The DRPS PHCA Retrospective 2025 is published on DRPS PHCA’s social media accounts on Facebook and X/Twitter, on DRPSPHCA.com, from 5:00 in the morning of December 31, 2025, until 23:30, with its special counterparts of this Rewind Special (which include what the viewers have seen on ABS-CBN and GMA in 2025, and the PBB Gen 11 housemate appearances and their related events) are published within the 30th minute of each designated hour. The Archive Edition of this series will be published at 12:00 on New Year’s Eve on DRPS PHCA’s social media accounts and its YouTube Channel (@DRPSPHCA).
PH TV Update: Reminder – ABS-CBN Shows on ALLTV, begins January 2, 2026

To reach out to all viewers of ABS-CBN’s well-loved shows regarding the move from TV5 to ALLTV2, effective January 2, 2026 (Friday), we’ve shared some important considerations for the programming changes on these affected channels from that date. This is a revised version as of December 26, 2025.
December 27, 2025, to January 1, 2026: TV5’s last airing day of ABS-CBN Shows (several dates)
This will be the last day to air the following ABS-CBN Shows on TV5.
- December 27, 2025: Your Face Sounds Familiar (Saturday)
- December 28, 2025: ASAP, Your Face Sounds Familiar (Sunday)
- January 1, 2026: FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Roja, What Lies Beneath, and Go Ahead.
Note: The following ABS-CBN shows will not be affected by this change, as they are seen on A2Z and ALLTV2, and/or GMA: Magandang Buhay, It’s Showtime (also on GMA), Lavender Fields (rerun), Senior High (rerun), TV Patrol Express, Kapamilya Deal or No Deal (rerun), TV Patrol, Rainbow Rumble, Rated Korina, TV Patrol Weekend, and many others.
January 2, 2026: ABS-CBN Shows on TV5 are no longer seen on that channel, effective this date.
Viewers who continue to tune in to the TV5 channel will see the following programs, as announced recently on their social media accounts (under the “TodoMAX – Primetime Singko” block, airing on weekdays):
- 17:30 – Una Sa Lahat (news)
- 18:00 – Frontline Pilipinas (news)
- 19:30 – Carlo J. Caparas’ Totoy Bato (drama)
- 20:30 – CineCinco Primetime (movies)
- 22:30 – Frontline Tonight (news)
- 23:30 – Vibe Nights (entertainment)
In summary: Once the ABS-CBN Shows are no longer shown on TV5, beginning January 2, 2026, if they continue to watch TV5, or if they are a solid “Kapatid” viewer, they will watch News5’s newscasts, Una Sa Lahat at 17:30, followed by Frontline Pilipinas at 18:00 – 30 minutes longer than the previous 60-minute airing time. After this, viewers will get entertained with Viva Entertainment’s TV Series, Totoy Bato, on its new timeslot at 19:30, followed by a new movie block called “CineCinco Primetime” at 20:30.
Timeslot change: Frontline Pilipinas will be extended by another 30 minutes from the previous 60 minutes (90 minutes in total). For the former timeslots allocated to ABS-CBN shows, the first 30 minutes of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo on TV5 will be occupied by the last 30 minutes of Totoy Bato (as it moved to a new timeslot of 19:30), while CineCinco Primetime will be occupied by the last 15 minutes of Batang Quiapo, and the whole timeslot of Roja, What Lies Beneath, and Go Ahead. The timeslots allocated for the rest of the shows, i.e., Una Sa Lahat, Frontline Tonight, and Vibe Nights, will not be affected by this change on weekdays, post-ABS-CBN affiliation.
Viewers who are interested in continuing to watch ABS-CBN shows on TV5 after the last airing day of January 1, 2026 must switch to either ALLTV2 or A2Z on over-the-air broadcasts, or if they have internet or pay TV subscription, they can watch them on Kapamilya Channel (pay TV and on iWant) and Kapamilya Online Live (on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube and Facebook accounts), as well as other ABS-CBN’s pay TV channels (i.e., Jeepney TV, ABS-CBN News Channel, or DZMM Teleradyo), while It’s Showtime is also seen on GMA as well. Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 is also airing on GMA, for those who want to support the current 14 housemates who are staying inside.

PBB Collab 2.0: Duo Housemates, formed!

It’s been nine weeks since the start of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0, and this time, for the first time around, just like in PBB Collab 1.0, or PBB Gen 11’s duo housemates – DongPat and JoliGwen, a new set of duos has formed from the fourteen current housemates – one duo automatically saved from the Endurance Challenge, while there are six additional duo housemates formed through a task.
In their Endurance Challenge for the Kapamilya and Kapuso housemates nominated for the Final Test, they must stand as long as possible above the wooden planks while holding a gift box, with one plank removed at any time.
- Kapamilya Housemates: In an episode aired on December 21, 2025, the Kapamilya housemates Rave Victoria, Lella Ford, and Miguel Vergara will participate in their Endurance Challenge, with a three-minute rest period granted to Miguel and Lella. Miguel won the first part of the challenge, while Lella was the most voted in the Padaluck voting, with 51,550 votes (with Rave Victoria got 25,200 votes). And in the final wooden plank, Miguel Vergara wins the challenge.
- Kapuso Housemates: In an episode aired on December 22, 2025, the Kapuso housemates Heath Jornales, Sofia Pablo, and John Clifford will participate in their Endurance Challenge, with a three-minute rest period granted to Heath and Clifford. Heath won the first part of the challenge, while Clifford was the most voted in the Padaluck voting, with 65,570 votes (with Sofia Pablo got 35,140 votes). And in the final wooden plank, Heath Jornales wins the challenge.
Heath Jornales and Miguel Vergara are safe from nomination, and are automatically formed as a duo named “HeaGuel”. For the rest of the housemates who didn’t win in the Endurance Challenge and the “Rolling Ball” Challenge, and are ineligible for these challenges, they will form a duo through a task where they will answer a question about the Christmas song “Twelve Days of Christmas”. If the housemates answered “78”, the housemate will have the chance to choose a duo pair. If the housemate is a Kapuso, then they will select a Kapamilya housemate, while if it is a Kapamilya, then they will choose a Kapuso housemate. And at the end of their task, new duos are formed along with HeaGuel, which are the following:
- CapQuin: Caprice Cayetano and Joaquin Arce
- SofElla: Sofia Pablo and Lella Ford
- FredCess: Fred Moser and Princess Aliyah
- AshRave: Ashley Sarmiento and Rave Victoria
- CarFord: Carmelle Collado and John Clifford
- KrysTon: Krystal Mejes and Anton Vinzon
With these duos formed, the viewers of the reality show will also have the power to give the Gift of Immunity to any of these six newly-formed duos, so the duo with the highest number of votes will receive immunity, along with HeaGuel. The voting lines for this have been closed recently, this Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 12:00.
Additionally, for their 8th Weekly Task “Namamasko Po”, they achieved success, earning PHP 35,356 on the first day and PHP 68,924 on the following day. Totalling these numbers will result in PHP 104,280. While their weekly task was a success, their carolling is not yet over; however, by the very end of the final day, they had accounted for PHP 186,069 in carolling donations.
