Here’s a programming update on Philippine TV, regarding ABS-CBN shows coming to TV5 within June and July, and two of the GMA Prime shows, including The Master Cutter and Taskforce Firewall, will also air on two of the GMA Network’s digital subchannels, on June 29, 2026.
On June 26, 2026, ABS-CBN Studios and Dreamscape Entertainment recently unveiled a special poster and teaser video for the upcoming Kapamilya series headlined by Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo, titled Someone Someday, and will soon be released not only on ABS-CBN on ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and iWant, but also on TV5.
More viewers will be able to enjoy the said primetime drama, a modern, feel-good, and progressive series with a heart, as it becomes available on multiple platforms, ABS-CBN stated in its press statement regarding the airing of Someone Someday.
The project marks the teleserye comeback of Kathryn, James Reid, and Maja Salvador, in an exciting story about a young woman CEO who builds a business to help women find love, ABS-CBN added.
But we’re not yet done with the ABS-CBN’s programming changes for viewers on TV5 following the return of Coco Martin for Sigabo, which premiered with flying colors and peaked more than 400,000 in concurrent online viewers from June 22 to 25, 2026, because ABS-CBN had recently announced that two of their game shows aired on weekends, Kapamilya Deal or No Deal and Everybody Sing, will also air on the Kapatid network, beginning by next weekend, July 4 and 5, 2026.
As viewing habits continue to evolve, media companies continue to work together to bring more local programs to more audiences. More viewers will be able to enjoy watching Kapamilya Deal or No Deal and Everybody Sing every weekend on more platforms, ABS-CBN stated in another press statement regarding these game shows to air on TV5 by next weekend.
Kapamilya Deal or No Deal, hosted by the Pambansang Host, Luis Manzano, continues to keep audiences on the edge of their seats, together with the first batch of lucky stars, where one of them could have the chance to win a jackpot prize of PHP 1,000,000.00.
Everybody Sing, on the other hand, hosted by the Unkabogable Phenomenal Box Office Superstar Vice Ganda, features a group of the Songbayanan taking part in guessing the correct lyrics and song titles in different challenges. Similar to Kapamilya Deal or No Deal, the Songbayanan may also win the same pot prize of PHP 1,000,000.00 if they answered everything in the jackpot round entirely.
Meanwhile, GMA Network also announced that two of their currently airing GMA Prime shows, such as The Master Cutter (headlined by Dingdong Dantes) and Taskforce Firewall (headlined by Kylie Padilla and Miguel Tanfelix), will also broadcast on two of their digital subchannels on their digital terrestrial broadcast network beginning on June 29, 2026 – Heart of Asia and I Heart Movies.
Their move to air these two primetime shows on Heart of Asia and I Heart Movies is to intensively compete with ABS-CBN Primetime Bida shows airing on the 20:00 and 20:50 timeslots, Coco Martin’s Sigabo, and Blood vs. Duty.
On June 24, 2026, GMA Network posted an art card showing the TV ratings between The Master Cutter and Coco Martin’s Sigabo for June 22, 2026, where it reads, “Apat na channel na ang katapat, si Atoy (Dingdong) pa rin ang pumaldo!” (transl. Four channels are already on, and Atoy (Dingdong) is still the one who wins!).
It also showed that The Master Cutter wins in the TV ratings race against Sigabo, where it had an 8.4% rating on GMA, plus an additional 1.5% rating on GTV’s delayed airing, for a total of 9.9%, whereas the latter had an 8.2% rating on four different ABS-CBN channels (2.5% on ALLTV2).
Despite this, according to a DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings data for June 22, 2026, the two shows sought out that Sigabo had aired 59 TV Ads on Kapamilya Channel, 46 TV Ads on A2Z, and 49 TV Ads on ALLTV2 and TV5, compared to The Master Cutter, which had 48 TV Ads on GMA, on the same timeslot basis. The DRPS PHCA will continue to count ads for these two shows on June 29, 2026, but for The Master Cutter, it will be based on the number of TV Ads aired on GMA only.
The announcement regarding the simulcast of these two GMA Prime shows on Heart of Asia and I Heart Movies will retain the current timeslot of these shows, i.e., The Master Cutter at 20:00 (and will also air on GTV after 24 Oras), and Taskforce Firewall at 20:50 (also on GTV at 22:30).
