DRPS PHCA Check: Will GMA replace Noontime High from Its Showtime? Its not true

A social media post from Tele News on Facebook claimed on March 3, 2026, that because of the ABS-CBN viewers would not trust watching their Kapamilya noontime show, It’s Showtime, on GMA-7, and would instead let GMA Network produce its own show, called Noontime High.

In the photo displayed on their post, it reads, “Kapamilya viewers, ayaw nang manood sa GMA ng It’s Showtime, Eat Bulaga ng TV5, wagi sa single channel; GMA, malapit nang ikasa ng bagong noontime show?” The post also claimed that because of the lower TV ratings, It’s Showtime on GMA and all other channels where the said noontime show was aired, will end. It also said that Eat Bulaga won the TV Ratings battle against the Kapamilya noontime show multiple times.

Our verdict: False. There is no such news from ABS-CBN and GMA regarding the airing of It’s Showtime due to “low ratings”. The claim that “Eat Bulaga had a higher TV Rating than It’s Showtime” is also false.

According to an article from the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), regarding the TV Ratings of PBB Celebrity Collab 2.0 Big Night and The Secrets of Hotel 88 Premiere day (February 27, 2026, and March 2, 2026), the Kapamilya noontime show, It’s Showtime, had a respective rating of 5.0% and 5.4%, compared to Eat Bulaga’s 3.5% and 2.9%. Thus, It’s Showtime retained its leadership in noontime show ratings over Eat Bulaga, at the moment.

The ABS-CBN-GMA partnership continued with the premiere of The Secrets of Hotel 88, which premiered on the GMA Prime block last Monday, March 2, 2026. It’s Showtime began airing on GMA Network on July 1, 2023, via GTV, and continued until December 31, 2024, and on GMA-7 since April 6, 2024.

This follows the end of the partnership between the Television and Production Exponents, Inc. (TAPE), the producers behind Tahanang Pinakamasaya (previously known as Eat Bulaga under TAPE, amidst the trademark dispute between TAPE and TVJ Productions), and GMA, following the final airing of the said noontime show with a final message from its presenters, Isko Moreno Domagoso (now a mayor of the City of Manila) and Paolo Contis, on March 2, 2024, and made it to an end after the broadcast of a replay episode five days after.

You might remember what Isko and Paolo had said in a live broadcast of Tahanang Pinakamasaya on GMA last March 2, 2024 (over two years ago). You already know this is happening in Philippine Noontime programming.

Isko: Anuman ang gawin mo at anuman ang problemang kakaharapin, do everything for love.

Entire Hosts: Tahanang Pinakamasaya!

It was later replaced with It’s Showtime weeks after, following a contract signing between ABS-CBN and GMA.
