Entertainment: After Call Me Mother and Almost Us, DonBelle-led Tayo Sa Wakas leads on Netflix PH

Following the global cinematic release of Tayo Sa Wakas, headlined by Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, the romantic drama film dominated Netflix as the Philippines’ most-watched film on the video streaming platform about four days after its streaming release, previously held by ther other released Philippine cinematic films, such as the 51st MMFF entry film Call Me Mother (Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre), and romantic comedy film Almost Us (JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith).

Tayo Sa Wakas (transl. Us In The End), directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, follows the story of Chescka (Belle) and Cisco (Donny), former partners whose personal and professional lives once revolved around each other before eventually drifting apart. With their relationship left unresolved, they embark on one final trip that forces them to confront their past, the dreams they once shared, and the possibility of finding their way back to each other—or finally saying goodbye.

The film was previously released in more than 250 Philippine cinemas on May 27, 2026, with a successful opening at the box office by achieving the highest opening-day gross in locally produced Filipino films for 2026 of more than PHP 12 million on opening day, which further grew to PHP 70 million a week after the release, and PHP 110 million on June 19, 2026.

The DonBelle-starred film is one of the offerings for the film production company’s 33rd anniversary celebration, aimed at delivering a strong run on Netflix following its successful local and international release in several cinemas in the Americas, China SAR, Oceania, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and the Middle East.

Donny and Belle previously headlined two of the Star Cinema-produced films, Love Is Color Blind and An Inconvenient Love, and an ABS-CBN Studios-Star Creatives Television-produced primetime drama, Can’t Buy Me Love, in 2023.
