Some of the social media posts published by TeleNews on Facebook claimed that the upcoming Kapamilya primetime series Sigabo, headlined by Coco Martin and Julia Montes, had been “cancelled” by the show’s producers. The competitors of the 20:00 Philippine Primetime Drama shows, Sang’gre on GMA, and Totoy Bato on TV5, have been “super extended” with more episodes, due to more intensive yet improving scenes in every episode.
Additionally, the other post from the same Facebook page also claimed that not only Sigabo was cancelled, but also the past Kapamilya shows that ended in March 2026, such as FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Roja, and What Lies Beneath (which recently released its finale episode on Netflix and iWant).
Our verdict: False and misleading. Sigabo is NOT CANCELLED by ABS-CBN Studios, Dreamscape Entertainment, and CCM Film Productions, and therefore, the premiere day of the primetime series has been postponed to a later date from the original March 16, 2026. Additionally, it has been occupied by The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan, headlined by Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, from the 20:00 timeslot.
The said series premiered with more TV Ads during all three commercial breaks of the show, according to the DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings. It aired 97 TV Ads on Kapamilya Channel and 76 TV Ads on A2Z and ALLTV2, according to data from the DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings, as of March 16, 2026.
There is also no truth that Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre and Totoy Bato have been extended with more episodes. Furthermore, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo aired 96 TV Ads on Kapamilya Channel, 69 on A2Z, and 70 on ALLTV2, according to data from the DRPS PHCA TV Ad Listings for March 13, 2026, during the counting of all of the TV Commercials aired on every three commercial gaps of the said primetime show’s finale episode, against Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre, which aired 30 TV Ads on GMA, while Carlo J. Caparas’ Totoy Bato only aired 56, on TV5. It also had a 10.2% TV Rating according to data from the Nielsen NUTAM Preliminary/Overnight Data, compared to Sang’gre’s 7.4% and Totoy Bato’s 0.6%.
For What Lies Beneath, the series is set to release the finale episode on April 1, 2026. The casts of the series shared how proud and grateful they are to be part of a hit series that tackles timely issues while shedding light on women’s stories.
Led by Charlie Dizon, Sue Ramirez, Kaila Estrada, and Janella Salvador, the series revolves around four friends who covered up the truth behind the murder of their friend Louisa (Mutya Orquia). Years later, the truth slowly comes to light, bringing long-buried secrets back into the open.
During the series’ finale media conference, the actresses said the show stands out for exploring socially relevant themes that make people think and spark conversations among viewers and across social media.
Meanwhile, their co-stars Jake Cuenca, Jameson Blake, Race Matias, and JM de Guzman thanked viewers for their continued support and for the lively discussions and theories surrounding the show’s twists.
Since its premiere, “What Lies Beneath” has continued to generate strong online buzz and has remained one of the most-watched series on iWant and Netflix Philippines, and is still airing on the final few episodes on-air via Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, ALLTV2, and Kapamilya Online Live at weeknights at 20:45, with viewers hooked as they try to guess who the real killer is.
As the series approaches its “Ang Kabog Sa Dibdib” finale on-air, viewers can expect even more shocking revelations as Mel (Sue), Alice (Janella), Beth (Charlie), and Erica (Kaila) race to uncover the truth and try to stop Edong’s (Jake Cuenca) revenge.
